First Win!!!!

Recommended Posts

First win against the Genestealers!  After several games I finally won my first.

Solo game

Teams: Purple, Yellow, and Grey.

Destinations:

Void Lock

Teleportarium

Wrath of Ball Chapel

Launch Control Room (Activated the control Panel, added 1 support token to the room and rolled a 1 FTW!)

I had some good draws of aliens and destinations, but I will take it!

Congrats! How fortunate that you didn't draw the green combat team, or your chances of winning would be heavily jeopardized. gran_risa.gif What I love about this game is that the final struggle in the last area is always a nailbiter. When I do win, I hardly have any marines left, maybe one or two.

What a great day for the chapter! We are all proud of you, brother! May the Emperor bless you and your fellow marines on your further victories! But remember to practice - victory comes with skill and bolter ready at your side!

Huh? Do not underestimate our Brother Gideon. His storm shield and thunder hammer have carried us through many seemingly impossible situations to victory and GLORY TO THE EMPEROR!

Gideon may seem hampered by his short range and low killing power, but when the going gets rough, that's when you need him. There are two "stopgap marines" and they are both of the sergeants. These marines can keep hordes of genestealers at bay when others would certainly fall.

Do not mock your brothers who shield you from certain death. Their kill count may not be high, but they will keep you alive.

Actually, I've found Sergeant Lorenzo is a killing machine on defense. And when it comes to keeping swarms at bay, I'd take Lorenzo and either one from the Grey team (since Power Field works with either or both alive) over pansy-Gideon any day.

Why do people rag on Gideon?  With the green Support card he has a 97% chance to survive against a swarm smaller than 4 and a 75% chance to survive against any swarm, regardless of size or the presence of a Brood Lord.  Green/Grey especially can shut down large swarms practically forever while you get them back under control.

yes but this is every other turn on the other turn he will fall like any other marine a think to make him and the yellow team dude with the storm calls i cant think of his name they should automatically get a +1 to their die roll cause they are melee specialists and would survive better than regular marines in melee any day

Only if they attack from the front. If Chaos of Battle Event comes on the turn Grey used Power Field (thus forcing Gideon to turn), defensive crap just cost a marine. Also, two of the endings require you to kill stuff at the end, another reason why defense sucks. And there is Gideon's pathetic range 0, so anytime you do want to attack, you probably have to spend M+A first to get there, meaning you have to survive a defense roll before you can even attack.

This was my third game and i managed to achieve victory with no casualties !! ( Unbelievable )

I used the gray ,the purple and the yellow team.. the steel claws , the flamer and the psychic attacks gave me the victory over the two brood lords in their lair..

i was lucky though as i moved succesfully all my space marines through the teleportarium ...
