Zeman 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Greetings. I am totally new to board/card games and I have no experience with them. I will probably have no one to play with, but I would like to try this form of entertainment and the Warhammer setting is tempting. Is this game a good purchase for solo play, or are there other Fantasy Flight card games better suited for this purpose? I know that it is a bit rude to create such a thread just after registering, but I have not found any definitive answser and am I am puzzled. Thank you in advance for all answers. mi-go hunter 0 Posted December 23, 2010 Since death angel is a co-op game, it's perfect for solo play! If you have no one to play with, this is a great game. Consider also getting Arkham Horror, as this is a co-op boardgame. However, it is far more complicated and longer to play then death angel, but it's an extremely entertaining game, and IMHO, it's the best game for solo play in existence. Vondur 0 Posted December 24, 2010 I just picked this game up this week. So far I've played three solo games and have had a lot of fun with it! If you're even mildly interested I highly recommend getting this one. Believe people when they say that the rules are poorly written. A game that could be explained to you in five minutes is blown up into a 30 page rulebook. Anyway... I say go for it.
Zeman 0 Posted December 24, 2010 Thank you for your opinions. I think I`ll give Angel of Death a shot and I` ll check Arkham Horror too. Merry Christmas.

The rules are online in the support section, I would check those out. I think it is worth if for a solo game. At first it can be tough controlling 3 combat teams (6 marines) by yourself but once you get the hang of it you can co-ordinate your marines actions in a way that 2 or more people can't and you can control the pace of a round. Despite this the game is still tough for one player and failure is a real possibility. My first solo game resulted in a loss.
keltheos 120 Posted December 29, 2010 You can always play the solo mode with fewer teams (which seems to lead to more wins in our games). Just decide what number of teams you want to try (say 2) and play that setup. Nothing else changes.
