shinma 0 Posted September 14, 2010 So if a person uses a skill/talent on their turn, at the end of their turn they remove a marker off of it. But what if an exhaustible talent is attached to the party sheet and someone taps it. How frequently do the tokens come off. After everyone's turn? Or after the whole set of rounds? Or never, and only are removed through the expenditure of fortune points of the whole party.
Uncle_Joe 36 Posted September 14, 2010 I believe according the rules, the tokens are only removed if someone spends a Fortune point to remove it. There is an optional rule for removing one at the end of each Rally Step. Personally I think this is rather harsh unless we are playing Fortune point incorrectly because that seems to be a VERY high price to pay for many of those talents (considering how many other good ones are there that would benefit everyone, all the time). mac40k 1 Posted September 15, 2010 Per the FAQ: "To remove a token from an exhausted talent, party members mustspend fortune points, as outlined on WFRP p. 21, “every characterusing the sheet has the opportunity to spend fortune points to helprecharge an exhausted talent socketed to the party sheet.” Alternatively, with the GM’s permission, the group may wish toallow one token to be removed from each exhausted talent cardsocketed to the party sheet during a rally step." Removing them at the end of rounds is nothing more than a house rule. This makes talents that are exhausted when used pretty poor candidates for slotting to the party sheet since there are so many talents that have a persistent effect (do not exhaust when used) and there are usually better uses for your limited supply of Fortune Points. Absolutely right and complete answer. Our houserule : remode 1 token at the end of each round of the Player who exhausted it. Like if it was one of his own talent. Your GM probably isn't awarding enough fortune points during play. Unlike v2 or the DH/RT/DW games, where fortune/fate points are limited and once per session, in 3e the MG should encourage roleplaying by liberally awarding fortune points for the group during each session and having their fortune points refresh several times a session. I don't know about harsh. Even if you don't use any optional rules and you don't ever spend a single Fortune point, or go through Rally Steps, you're still getting a number of free Talent uses every encounter, for nothing.
