The Laughing God 17 Posted August 30, 2010 Disciples of the Dark Gods. First there is the crunch with all the stats for cultists and enemies and daemonic opponents. But more importantly, it is full of ideas, hints, tantalizing concepts, and it does a great job of sketching the mood of the 41st millennium. It is the only supplement I couldn't put away and read from cover to cover.

I wonder even more that people mention the Radicals Handbook (which is very good after all) and even Creatures Anathema (rather mediocre compared to the others) before DotDG. In regard to the Radicals Handbook I have the impression that many seem to focus on this "inner war" aspect maybe a little to much. After all, one has to keep in mind the Inquisition is before all about hunting heretics, xenos and daemons and not about Radicals. Radicals are just a nuisance and an evil the Inquisition has to live with.
Ashandarei 0 Posted August 30, 2010 Well, please don't kill me but my favourite is Ascension - sure it has some really broken rules, sure some careeres are way better than others and some are so boring, sure everyone has almost everything like the others on some ranks etc. I agree that it needs really solid errata - faster the better... but still I love possibility of playing on higher power level and there is quite good flavor and facts that i need when i am creating adventures. Furthemore there is some nice stuff for my team like new weapons and so on. Second place takes both Inquisitor Handbook and Creatures Anathema.

I agree with that point, but it still hasn't stopped me using it more than any other supplement....
ThulmannFan87 0 Posted September 4, 2010 Though it may sound odd, the Radical's Handbook. I know some folk can get a bit queasy around so-called "anti-heroes" and their use in a game, but in this setting it works. In any other game, an "anti-hero" is basically a (appropriate insult here) who just happens to be on the good side out of convenience, so it stretches the sinews of disbelief and looks very forced. However, in DH and the 40K universe, there are several precedents of Inquisitors (Eisenhorn for example) that become more monstrous as their misplaced zeal turns them from servants of the God Emperor into dangerous individuals. Also, I love the Penal Legionnaire sub-rank for the Guardsman career, and I think it needn't be entirely restricted to a Radical campaign.
