MRoxs 0 Posted August 7, 2010 There was a discussion in the group about any of the dice that remain after resolving damage and I've decided to look for an answer here. For example, the player rolls 4 successes and 2 boons and the attack card states that 2 succes is + 1 damage and 2 boons are + one critical. Does this mean that the player gets 2 times the + 1 damage because of the amount of succeses rolled or is that wrong?
Armoks 17 Posted August 7, 2010 Wrong. Please take a look at the FAQ, it clarifies your question. ozean 0 Posted August 8, 2010 Yup, though this is something that is very hard for my players to get their heads around. Boons can always be useful: the more, the merrier. But tons of successes do very often not translate to particularly big successes, which makes them wonder. I hope to be able to steer them around this frustration by giving them greater narrative freedom when they present these kinds of successful action (“I am so convincing in my argument that Countess Drusilla sigh full of deep pleasure and all of her peers now listen to my story even more attentively”) and then they will have the opportunity to get fortune dice or fortune points for this narration…
jeffffeffff 0 Posted August 8, 2010 The attacker only gets to trigger a success line once, even if he has extra successes. In your example, the attack would do +1 damage, not +2. There are optional rules for more lethal games in the GM's toolkit which, if I recall correctly, allow you to do more damage with extra successes. player444710 0 Posted August 9, 2010 You can convert every extra hammer above max line per yellow dice rolled into damage. It scales skill of attacker and his potential of doing damage.

Cheers, got it but haven't read it thoroughly yet (obviously).
