First time player

so my buddy got the core book, and we decided to give it a shot, we stumbled through character creation as soon as we sat down with it.... needless to say we don't have many erasers anymore.

The problem is i'm trying to work on characters and figure it all out, but i don't have the book. Is there any kind of character generator program i can download or is in a flash version online or anything like that?

if not, then maybe i can get some help on my character.

ability wise, think of it being a male version of saber from fate/stay night.,

what i do understand... warrior, with a primary in block and attack, focus of a long sword, and ki abilities, specifically any that could be used to make a "Ki sword" of sorts, and high HP/Ki regeneration. That said, I know what i want, just how to go about making it... without the aid of a book.

If anyone can help me, that would be great.

No character generator available that I'm aware of.  You might want to consider the PDF version of the book; it's $30, so not cheap, bu definitely cheaper that the dead-tree version.

Found the following over on Wolfsgeheul.  Note that it is in German, but should be a decent starting point.  Be sure to use the Google translator tool on the Wolfsgeheul site to help with navigation (great tool IMHO).

I also posted the sheets on this forum under Character Generation and Excel a few pages back along with an english version of the guide to use the excel sheet and a few more NPC's and Monsters.
