Ships destroyed

Recommended Posts

Ok gents i know the game has been out for a while now and many people have been playing to date.  What I would like to find out is how many ships have been destroyed out there by our fearless rogue trader in the games that have been played.  If anyone cares to help me out just post here what ship you were in what weapons you used, what type of ship you were fighting and wether or not you were able to destroy or just cripple the ship.  Thanks

The lot I GM for have the sword class frigate Destroyer of All Boundaries. She's got two Sunsear Laser Batteries and a mean void-mistress/master gunner linked into them via a good quality MIU. To date they have hulked, destroyed or heavily crippled the following.

-Two ork raiders, one blown apart and the other hulked and boarded for plunder.

-Two system boats belonging to the Chorda dynasty. The flagship of Chorda herself was present, preventing any salvage.

-The Hazeroth class raider Spite, a pirate vessel. Salvaged and undergoing refit in Port Wander.

-One system boat-equivalent from a lost human solar empire. Dropped from perfect condition to crippled in a single volley.

-An eldar raider which underestimated her prey's ability to turn quickly and believed her master gunner to be dead or incapacitated.

The Dauntless-Class Light Cruiser Aesteban's Folly has been racking up a pretty impressive kill-count. With a Prow Lance Battery and Mars-Pattern Macrocannon Broadsides, this is only to be expected.

The crew now all have their base skill/ability rolls at 60+, and they've mastered the {Aid the Machine Spirit (Augury Bonus)/Lock on Target/Put Your Backs Into It! (Shooting Bonus)/Arch-Militant with BS 61 fires at close range (+10) using Rogue Trader's +10 command Bonus} formula for win. Most ships that aren't a Cruiser will just disintegrate under such fire, and they're sensible enough to flee from anything that could survive a couple of such volleys.

Thus far, they have:-

-Defeated a squadron of 3 Pirate Raiders

-Destroyed a Pirate base

-Defeated 3 Ork raiding ships

-Run down a Chaos Raider from Iniquity

-Had numerous kills scored against Yu'Vath Void Wasps

All the enemy ships have either fled the battle or been left drifting away crippled or hulked. In several cases they have looted or salvaged wrecks for anything advantageous. The Chaos Raider probably has them wishing they'd not bothered, though, given the trouble they got into trying to secretly auction the blasphemous artifacts they looted from it to the degenerate nobility of Malfi...

The one real strike against them was when they attacked a former Naval Frigate turned Pirate that is fitted with a Laser and Plasma battery. The Captain managed to get into the PCs rear arc at point blank range and blast away, and it was only due to the plot device of Fate Points that the PCs didn't end up having their ship crippled. As it was, by re-rolling their Raid results they were able to cripple the enemy's Auger array and the Captain decided to flee at that point.

i was a rogue trader in my last group,my frigate and another rogue trader pc with a raider destroyed 1 drone frigate. did so with the use of a teleportarium. after a failed boarding attempt we send over a build it your self bomb made up of several melta bombs and krak grenades and several demolishion charges.

though on the first endeavor we lost our light crusier to an eldar boarding party, couldn't make a command check to save his life, the officers mutinied just as the eldar cut through the bulkhead fo the bridge. the pc's on board where saved but we lost around 72,000 men in the process.

lots of fun

We have an 'Ancient' cruiser named the 'Marque' with sunseer battery forward and two mars macro batteries on each side.  It helps as everyone is usually very will ing to talk - but as soon as we show weakness = they want out ship!

- Battled 3 Raiders in the Dusk system & Hulked them all.

- In ‘the battlefield’ 4 hidden wolfpack raiders jumped us: 1 was destroyed, 1 crippled & 1 captured! Only 1 escaped. A prize crew was put on the captured ship and it was sent back to Port Wander.

- We upset an ambush by another Rogue Trader, but his Sword class frigate escaped (and the was in turn taken by the Red Corsair Space Marine Strike Cruiser...

- We destroyed a lost colony station – after they severed the captain and her entourage from our ship and opened fire on our ship. We then detected 8 system ships coming towards us. We sent our accompanying explorator ship (renamed ‘the Shadow’) to the other side of the gas giant to pretend to be us and project our ship’s ‘shadow’. The system ships responded by sending a flanking squadron behind the ‘shadow’. Having split their forces we ambushed the flanking squadron, capturing two of their ships and destroying the other 2. The battle against the other ships cost them all 4. We then captured the last of the lost colony’s stations (thast was more due to our Navigator's sneaky plan that tripped their evacuation!).

-We used the ship to deploy two planet killer asteroids to destroy an automated Yu'Vath shipyard on a planet.

- At another system: a research station was destroyed (Yu”vath infestation)

- At yet another system The Marque docked at the Warden Fortress – the captain was quickly surrounded by the Yu’Vath infestation on the space station. Fighting our way out we lost 140 men from the captain’s personal guard of 200! We blinded the crystal infection, ejected the space station’s core and drove the station into the Gas giant.

- The last battle was against an ambush of 5 Eldar aconite escorts. After a brief exchange of fire, 3 of the elder escorts were damaged, but the Marque had a fire in life support and our sensors had been knocked out (we lost approx 19,000 crew!).

We keep coming close to facing the Red Corsair Space Marine Strike Cruiser under the command of 1st company commander of the (previously) Astral Claws Mordant ‘Barca the Bloody’ himself!!  He's going to eat us alive!!  So far he's stolen the righteous path and the 'Shadow' off us...

To the Dynasty's Cruiser The Thors Redemption

2 Wolfpack raiders in the battleground, one rammed and then boarded, charges set and it was destroyed, the other crippled, captured and renovated for use of the glorious Parol Dynasty, Hurrah!

2 raiders and a frigate, One raider got away after having its augur array damaged.

To the dynasty's Raider The Fox's Gambit

A single raider guarding an unmanned small station.

The Redemption has chased off a pair of Eldar raiders too after doing minimal damage (although to be fair, at the point they left it was 2 aconite frigates against a cruiser, light cruiser and frigate)

OH my lets see here

6 Dark eldar cruisers destroyed

10 Ork frigats, 4 ork onslaughts, 4 killa kruzas

28 tau cruisers

1 imperium battleship

This has been through the entirty of the game, at first just a frigat for 2 of the dark eldar cruisers and a few of the ork frigats then we got 2 cruisers for the rest of the dark eldar ships and a few of the onlaughts, got another cruiser against the battleship then got the battleship which took on the rest of the ork ships. For the tau we sacked some frigats we had picked up specifically for this by setting their warp drives to explode.

My group has two ships now, the Chalice of Faith, a transport, and the Golden Raven, a raider. They started with the raider, and eventually after some finagling with some other traders in the region they bought the transport. Note I only have two players right now (despite an enormous amount of effort to find a third - still looking!), so it works out.

The Chalice is equipped with a single sunsear laser battery, but it's armoured up the wazoo.

The Raven is fully equipped with a compliment of macrobatteries, and it has a teleportarium.

So far they've managed to destroy, that I recall:

2 Ork Cruisers

7 or 8 Eldar Raiders... and their starbase.

and at least one imperial pirate ship.

Usually how it goes is the Chalice sits back since it's sluggish as hell and has crazy range with the sunsear battery. The Raven will swoop in and run down opponents. The teleportarium really goes a long way towards being able to disable opponents quickly. By the time the Chalice gets into range it's all over... her commander is the MIU-equipped Seneschal who has a knack for rolling crits.

Well, just starting off a new group. So far, they have taken and burned a transport (squawking a Salvation code, so there wasn't any resistance there) and a pirate corvette (wolfpack raider). In both cases, the ship was too badly smashed up to be repaired without a major dockyard (and they only had a frigate, so towing them or refitting from ship's stores was pretty much out of the question).

They took the surviving passengers/crew from the transport, as well as any valuables (personal effects of the dead, ship's stores, any working components of value) before shutting down the reactor, jamming open all interior doors and blowing the external airlocks (the area was already full of navigational hazards, what's one more?).

The surviving crew of the corvette were spaced, everything of value stripped from her, disabled the generarium's coolant system and set her reactor to come to full military power (115% of nominal) an hour after they left. Since some lucky lance strikes in the battle had effectively welded her drive tubes shut, when the enginarium spooled up it was only a matter of time before something gave. Said something was not, however, the cooling wreckage blocking the drive venturi, so maybe 90 minutes after they pulled away the aft opticon crews watched silvery-purple plasma boil out of every airlock, every hull breach, every view- and gunport for quarter of an hour. After that, the corvette was just a blackened and twisted mass of slowly cooling metal...
