Dossmo 2 Posted August 13 Hey guys, playing in a tournament at the end of the month and with the point changes, why not try to combine some of my favourite ships into a cocktail. Vynder/Deathrain/2×Inqui (40) Major Vynder [Alpha-class Star Wing] (0) Os-1 Arsenal Loadout (3) Advanced SLAM (2) Fire-Control System (13) Proton Torpedoes (5) Adv. Proton Torpedoes Points: 63 (43) "Deathrain" [TIE/ca Punisher] (5) Proton Bombs (2) Skilled Bombardier (6) Mag-Pulse Warheads (1) Delayed Fuses (6) Trajectory Simulator Points: 63 (36) Inquisitor [TIE Advanced v1] Points: 36 (36) Inquisitor [TIE Advanced v1] Points: 36 Total points: 198 The thinking is: battlefield control and anti-swarm with deathrain, fast flanking and heavy hitting with vinder, while needling and/or blocking with two naked force users, depending on the type of list I'm flying against. Any thoughts? D.
admat 486 Posted August 21 Interesting. I would need to try it, since I haven't flown both the TIE Punisher and the Alpha-Class Star Wing in 2.0 yet. On paper, it seems solid to me.
JBFancourt 1,261 Posted August 21 I would worry about aces... not enough 2 die arcs to cover routes and no sense/ or passive sensors. Could you get sense on a Quizzy?
KingmanHighborn 167 Posted August 21 Drop delayed fuses, and mag pulse, put a cheaper missile like ion on, FCS or passive sensors for the Inquisitors. Ion missiles help the bombs land. Passive sensors makes the v1s shots hurt more, and you're also potentially hamstringing a target to help Vynder line up and hurt them.
Dossmo 2 Posted August 21 Thats actually a good train of thought. I'll try building something...
Manolox 124 Posted August 22 if you want to play these ships maybe it works better like this: Inquisitor (36) Ship total: 36 Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2 Inquisitor (36) Ship total: 36 Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2 "Deathrain" (43) Trajectory Simulator (6) Diamond-Boron Missiles (6) Skilled Bombardier (2) Seismic Charges (3) Proton Bombs (5) Ship total: 65 Half Points: 33 Threshold: 5 Major Vynder (40) Fire-Control System (2) Proton Torpedoes (13) Advanced SLAM (3) Os-1 Arsenal Loadout (0) Adv. Proton Torpedoes (5) Ship total: 63 Half Points: 32 Threshold: 4 Total:
Dossmo 2 Posted August 22 (edited) Thats just a different rocket and seismic charges added. How dies it play different than my original list? Edited August 22 by Dossmo

How dies it play different than my original list? is very similar because these are the ships that you said you want to play. the difference is that this deathrain: 6 hours ago, Manolox said: Deathrain" (43) Trajectory Simulator (6) Diamond-Boron Missiles (6) Skilled Bombardier (2) Seismic Charges (3) Proton Bombs (5) Ship total: 65 Half Points: 33 Threshold: 5 is more flexible , can use his ability more times (because has more payloads) and tanks to diamond boron missilesis is a pain for swarms. Dossmo 2 Posted August 22 You're right, that makes sense. Hmm, I think, I will combine both suggestion into one: Vynder/Deathrain/2×Inqui (40) Major Vynder [Alpha-class Star Wing] (0) Os-1 Arsenal Loadout (3) Advanced SLAM (2) Fire-Control System (13) Proton Torpedoes (5) Adv. Proton Torpedoes Points: 63 (43) "Deathrain" [TIE/ca Punisher] (5) Proton Bombs (3) Seismic Charges (2) Skilled Bombardier (3) Ion Missiles (1) Delayed Fuses (6) Trajectory Simulator Points: 63 (36) Inquisitor [TIE Advanced v1] Points: 36 (36) Inquisitor [TIE Advanced v1] Points: 36 Total points: 198 With the Ion missiles I still can disrupt the movement of a swarm, while bringing seismics along and still running a small two point bid. Thanks guys. 1 KingmanHighborn reacted to this
