Grungyape 27 Posted June 17 The FSE has a talent called Sense Emotions, but I'm confused by it. In my mind, sense emotions allows me to determine my targets emotional state: happy, sad, scared, etc. It does not read like this at all, and I don't see why I'm picking a social skill to use it on my target. Overwhelm Emotion. I am thinking I use this to flood your mind with an overwhelming emotion such as fear, joy, loss, etc. and in some way debilitate you. It looks like this just gives someone a greater chance to influence them (see charm person comment below). Finally, Charm Person. My words, not a talent I can find. Is this a force power, if so which might I find it under? We see plenty of other talents/powers that seem to be "mind" affecting-related, but some are not clear to us in their use. What am I missing? Bear in mind I come from d20, so I am use to "charm person", "sense emotion" and "mind control" type spells.

The Sense Emotions talent is not magic spell that lets you sense emotions. It's a passive ability that gives you minor insight into the emotional state of people you encounter, which translates into a bonus when you use that listed social skills. Trying to charm or decieve somebody is easier if you can sense their surface emotions. Quote Overwhelm Emotion. You overwhelm them with fear and as a result your Coercion roll becomes ridiculously easy. But no, it's not combat ability. It's not a psychic flashbang. Quote Finally, Charm Person. Mind you, there isn't something in the game as powerful as an actual D&D Charm spell. And the Sense power lets you read emotions and thoughts if you buy enough upgrades for it. Xcapobl 473 Posted June 17 I might have a partial answer for you. When you can sense somebody's emotions, you might alter your manner of speach, your gestures, etcetera, depending on the emotion you feel emanating from that person. You simply approach an angry person in a different mannet than you would a happy one, and Sense Emotions as a talent (-like power) gives you just a slight edge in determining that specific manner. CHarm Person. To my recollection there is none quite like it, although you can use Influence with the appropriate upgrades to perform the classic mind trick.
