Question on Luke Robinson suddenly vanishing from a place he can’t leave

Recommended Posts

SPOILERS FOR DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.

This is my first blind run through.

I’m off to work after taking two turns of this scenario so I’ll leave this with you for when I get back.

Playing Luke Robinson solo. I got myself captured didn’t I so I am in the Moon-Beast Galley. Cannot enter or leave Moon-Beast Galley via player card effects. First turn played some assets. First Mythos phase drew Lunar Patrol. Attached location gets Forced: when you leave raise alarm level by one.

Second turn I discovered two clues with read the signs and drew two cards.

I’ve got an Arcane Initiate in play with a doom on her and one doom on the agenda.

My thinking was that the Moon-Beast galley is going to flip next round after seeing three doom in play so I’m waiting to see what happens there. I don’t have the cards to clear the last remaining clue.

Upkeep phase I draw Luke’s signature weakness Detached from Reality. Put Dream-Gate (pointless reality) into play and move there.

So now what? Is a weakness card a player card so I don’t move because of my location effect? If it isn’t and I do have to move to it does Lunar Patrol trigger as I am leaving?

What do you lot think? This bloody game 🤦‍♂️

From the FAQ:

Weaknesses with an encounter cardtype (such as enemies or treacheries) are considered to be player cards while they are in their bearer’s deck, and are considered to be encounter cards while they are being resolved, and once they have entered play. Before a weakness with an encounter cardtype is resolved, it is still considered to be a player card.

Detached From Reality is not a player card while being resolved, so it can force you to leave the Moon Beast Galley. And yes, you are still leaving the location, so Lunar Patrol will still trigger.

Thank you, that's how I thought it would go. Spent the whole scenario with a giant, red glowing arrow above my head tripping every alarm along the way with bells and sirens going off all over the shop. Ended on an alarm level of 11.
