Attacking Monsters Rules Question

Recommended Posts

Newbie rules question.

When attacking monsters do you have be engaged with them or can you attack them if they are engaged with another investigator at the same location as you. Also if they are at the same location as you but not engaged with anyone can you still attack them?

Cheers

Welcome to the game!

If the enemy is not engaged with any investigator then you can attack it if you are at the same location and it does not have the Aloof keyword.

If the enemy is engaged with another investigator then you can attack it. However, if you fail the skill test then the damage that the attack would have dealt to the enemy is dealt to the other investigator instead.

There are player cards that can modify your attacks so they ignore some of the above rules.
