ArkhamChronicle 239 Posted April 17 Hey everyone. We are a bunch of wacky nincompoops with tiny YouTube channel but that’s not important. We moved heaven and earth to get hold of the Weaver of the Cosmos Mythos Pack https://youtu.be/v3hLmRzxP3o And as this cycle is now complete the pack will probably just sit on a shelf until such time as we can all get together and play multiplayer. Which sounds really unfair if other people around the world can’t finish their campaigns. So we had the idea of sending out our copy on loan around the world. Once the recipient played the game they would post it on to the next person on a list. Preferably the closest person in their country. No one would get to keep it but lots of people would get to play it for just the cost of posting it to the next person. It would be nice if we put a note inside that people could sign like a guestbook. As we are logistical buffoons we are asking for your help to try and organise this properly and spot any potential flaws in our plan and head them off. Challenges: Probably take the player cards out so people aren’t tempted to steal them. Put the cards in sleeves. Maybe laminate the scenario sheets? Or would that add too much bulk? Remove the Blister pack? Keep people’s home addresses secret. Only give out the next one that it needs to be posted to. Maybe try and get a second copy so people aren’t waiting 20 years! What do you think?
DarkFate 70 Posted April 18 Are you able to upload the assets on tabletop simulator or equivalents? I think more people might be able to get access to the scenario this way. 1 ClassicalMoser reacted to this
Hyperjayman 139 Posted April 18 Altruism on a hobby game is pointless. It’s not something people need during this time. People already have things to keep them distracted while waiting. Also expecting people to waste money sending it to the next person on the list is flat out idiotic at a time when people should be holding on to the money they have for necessities/bills. It would have been a fun, interactive, voluntary activity among people who love the game. It has problems for other reasons, but none of those you list are valid since participation is not mandatory and the expectations would be clear up front. 2 Assussanni and ClassicalMoser reacted to this

We can’t have anything to do with third party software that is prohibited by Asmodee’s IP policy. 1 Antimarkovnikov reacted to this

We moved heaven and earth to get hold of the Weaver of the Cosmos Mythos Pack I thought the constellations looked different! We finally started Dream Eaters when the site showed Weaver shipping. Since we get our stuff directly from Asmodee, it comes the Saturday before the release date. So we thought we were golden. Then the day before they would’ve shipped it, they decided to hold off. So we have finished dreamers but the Wakies are still waiting. We are getting it one way or another, but now that release has been pushed all the way back to June, it would be nice to finish it earlier. But we are across the Pond and mailing it to others may take a long time these days. Edited April 18 by Mimi61

I think we all follow these threads for at least two reasons; first, we love this game, and second, we like to feel we are a part of a community with common interests. The pandemic has increased my own personal need for interaction while isolated and I think it would be great to share the experience and sign the guestbook. And, to finish the campaign! 😉

Buhallin 4,563 Posted April 20 I can appreciate the idea, but I'm not entirely sure that sharing around a nice big stack of hard-to-clean cards is the best idea right now. Nor is encouraging people to go to the post office to ship things.

Hyperjayman 139 Posted April 21 @Buhallin @CaffeineAddict But guys Altruism is apparently better than sensibility in this thread. Tempting people to spend unnecessary postage on a hobby is totally better than just being realistic and waiting. Can’t have a non ‘rainbows and butterflies’ opinion on these boards. Staying home instead of going to the post office is a good reason. Potentially infected components, too. Not wanting to spend 75 cents for a hobby where the typical buy-in is over $15 a month? Less convincing. The closest thing I see to 'rainbows and butterflies' is "cool idea". It seems like it's unlikely to happen, so relax. 1 Allonym reacted to this
ArkhamChronicle 239 Posted April 22 This is why we ask for feedback. We aren’t the kind of folks that think they know everything or think they know best for others. We are always happy to go with a better idea. 2 Antimarkovnikov and CSerpent reacted to this

Is it possible for you to take photos of the text inserts in the blister pack and email those photos to me? My buddies and I completed the entirety of the released mythos packs for The Dream Eaters using octgn. We're in North America, so Weavers of the Cosmos hasn't been released here; however, for some reason, the cards for WOTC are available in octgn. So, we can play the scenario, but we don't have the text of the story at all.

You may have noticed that Asmodee is cracking down on people who misuse their IP. There was a reason we were looking to use actual product we paid money for as opposed to print out proxy cards instead.

ArkhamChronicle 239 Posted May 2 What we have been doing is supporting people who are doing a similar thing in their local friend groups. We have also been giving away tons of packs to our Patrons and in competitions on the channel. We hope to give away one pack per week until release day. 1 CSerpent reacted to this
