Proper way to say AT-AT

So YouTubers and SW Nerds always say A T A T,

 

but the Kenner commercial and now LEGO Masters has pronounced it At-At...

And I know it stands for All Terrain Assualt Transport, so it makes sense to say A T A T, ....anyway, how do you say it?

The problem with calling it an at at is that it's not scalable.

A T A T = at at

A T S T = at street?

A T P T = 😖

A T T E = at tea?

The list goes on...

So you can call it whatever, but I believe calling it an at at shows a certain sign of ignorance. Is it too late to correct the masses?

We always said @@ growing up, though I see the logic behind AT-AT.  In Rogue One, Pao says, "Karabast! @@!" when he sees an AT-ACT. Ultimately, I see it as AT-AT is the official Imperial abbreviation, while @@ is a slang form.

Probably because they are pronouncing each letter - "Ef-Ay-Que" (or however you write out the letters), and so the word starts on a vowel, for which 'an' is used. 'A' is for when words start with consonants, as in 'an effort' vs. 'a phoenix'.

I've just finished listening to The Radio Drama of Star Wars that come out in 1981. On that they call it Tan-ti-ve IV. I'd always called it Tan-tive. As regards to AT AT, I use both but usually At At than A T A T because it's quicker. Will hopefully get an answer when I listen to Empire Radio Drama.

I've thought about this hard on the past year. I always said EX-e-cue-tor, (as in one who executed people) but looking it up that's not a real word. I guess I was thinking about the word executioner. It almost had to be ex-EC-u-tor, as in one who executes a will or specific action. Did any of that make sense?

Yes. There was actually a thread about that very point a while back. As a result I have switched to ex-EC-u-tor.
