Ships in Movies and TV Shows

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

My local community would love to know, which X-Wing ship can be seen in which movie / TV show.

Is there an overview or list, where this can be seen? 🙂

Greetings and stay safe / healthy!

Like a comprehensive list, or just examples?

Because for a comprehensive list, your best bet would just be to go to wookieepedia and look at the appearances section at the bottom of the page for each ship.

Nice rundown.  Though when did the ghost appear in Rogue one?

A few times. At Yavin you can see it at the edge of the screen on the ground and it flys by a few times during the space battle. You can also see Chopper at Yavin and hear the Alliance Command call for General Syndulla in the background.

Might have to give it a re-watch then..  I don't remember seeing those clips.

It happens pretty quick and the Ghost isn't the focus of those scenes, I think there is a YouTube video that will point out any Rebel scenes or at least the Ghost ones.

Fang fighters are in Clone Wars also.

Nope, they debuted in Rebels.

You might be thinking of the much larger Kom'rk/Gauntlet class transports that do show up in both Clone Wars and Rebels. They're the ones that land with the wings rotated up.

We're yet to get those in X-Wing, but unfortunately they occupy that weird space between being too big for a large base and too small for a huge that probably means they won't make it over.

Yes, you are right, that is what I was thinking of.  Sorry about that!

And episode II

Nice list by the way.

Edit: and the YT-1300, though not actually the Millennium Falcon is also seen in episode II

TIE Shuttle/TIE Landing craft - TESB, RO

The TIE Shuttle and TIE Landing craft aren't in X-Wing second edition even as titles or configurations, so I didn't include them in the list.

Also the TIE Shuttle and TIE Boarding Craft are two different ships anyway.

The TIE Shuttle has outward bending panels, while the TIE Boarding Craft uses the more standard Bomber type panels.

Also also, I'm not sure we can say for certain if we've seen the boarding craft on screen. It's hard to tell, but it looks to me like the two ships escorting Vader's shuttle in Rogue One have the bomb chute, making them normal TIE Bombers. Wookieepedia lists TIE Boarding Craft in the strength list for the Battle of Scarif article, but the reference for that is just the film itself, which means it's not been confirmed anywhere and sounds like a classic case of Wookieepedia going off assumption to me.

Not saying that's definite. Given where Rogue One drew its references from, the Braha'tok gunship for example, it's entirely possible they're supposed to be boarding craft. Just saying it's not confirmed yet that I can tell.

Lambda Shuttle: TESB, ROTJ, RO

Ah, I always forget that the Lambda appears in ESB now thanks to the Special Edition. In my head, RotJ is still the film where the Lambda made its first appearance (because real time chronologically speaking that's true) so I don't even consider ESB. But good point, I'll update.

I can't believe I forgot AotC!! It gets even more screen time here than it does in ESB.

That's a pretty egregious oversight, especially as the only other thing it shares a screen with is basically the most we ever see of the Delta-7, which obviously I remembered.

Better add that in.

Is that true?

I know the Millennium Falcon itself can be seen landing at the Senate building in RotS when Anakin and Obi-Wan return there after the opening, which is why I included it in my list. But I didn't know about AotC, even if it's not the Falcon itself.

Where does it happen? I'm guessing it's either the scene of Anakin's freighter leaving Coruscant or arriving at Naboo? Or is it just background Coruscant traffic or something?

EDIT: Hmm, thinking about it, I guess the YT-1300 seen in RotS can't be the Millennium Falcon anymore. Not since Solo came out and showed it used to look different. I wonder if that's been officially retconned, or if the fact that cameo was the Falcon itself never actually made it into Disney canon.....

I’m guessing the cameo was never brought to Disney canon, as it could be any old 1300 without a name referenced on screen.

There are multiple yt-1300s in the same shot on corruscant in the prequels, so clearly 1 or all are not the Falcon. Its one of the things Disney forgot when they Retconned the Falcon for Solo.  Landos from that film is the modified one.

Also Hawk-290 and other ships appear in a ton of media that George Lucas stated was Cannon, but its mostly the Lucas Arts games.
