Umm...Iden seems.....REALLY STRONG....

I'm concerned....

She is, however 3 of her cards only benefit her and the 4th requires you to have SF that isn't strike teams to benefit from. She's basically an operative with a courage bubble. I doubt we'll see her in single commander lists.

Edit: Also she can't reconfigure her rifle so you can deal with her at range 4+ or close the gap quickly to take her down.

That seems to be the only thing I see as the downside of her, but man....everything that is for her is SCARY.

As scary as she seems stats and dice throwing wise, I do like the continued push to provide viable options of lists that don't involve current meta staples such as Tauns not looking great with Cassian and Iden wanting actual Special Force units and not Strike Teams.

Oh yeah her offense is nuclear, but her defense isn't superb. Quick thinking + nimble will only get you so far. She's also vulnerable to pierce so snipers will work well against her.

Having a "does work" commander is an interesting playstyle option that the Empire hasn't seen before.  I think she'll work better as an operative, but she'll make for some fun lists if nothing else.  Inferno Squad may well change our opinions on that 4th Command card.

Is Iden’s 3 pip very broken, or is it just me?

Not only does it give Steady and Tactical to 4 units, but with HQ Uplink more units can benefit too.

Not something the Imperial faction really needed.

Edit: just noticed it’s only SF. NM

It has to be SF in order to benefit so if you want to abuse it, it's gonna be expensive.

Take the droid and put her behind heavy cover, suddenly snipers won't be able to do much.  One will be blocked by cover and the other you can use a shield token.   Also if Iden has the sniper rifle, what do you think she is going to be killing first?

If Iden is running the sniper rifle, then her offense is substantially less scary. She's barely better than a sniper strike team and more than double the cost.

Also the droid doesn't count towards getting cover so hiding it is actually worse since it can't take a wound if it can't be seen. The shield also will only work once. Iden isn't going to want to recover at all so she can use Quick Thinking.

Take Veers, now she has two cards that give her recovery.  You can also just put Iden in heavy cover and with her current rule set that shouldn't be to hard to do.
