Escape Pod

Recommended Posts

So I'm really not liking to way the picture the pod sitting in the base.  It just doesn't look natural.....I'm thinking about doing min like this....looks more like it came to rest after a crash landing rather than just face planting into the sand.....

Thoughts?

I got the same thinking while making mine. I think you are right.

1/ FFG said the large hatch should be on top.

2/ in the movie the droids escaped from the small hatch (in front of the escape pod) and it stayed open after that

3/ffg put details indoor of the small hatch and not inside of the large one

But, to me, the small hatch is very small to allow R2D2 to get out easily, and the big hatch should habe been designed for that purpose 🤔

So I painted the escape pod with no hatch open (let say, they automatically close to prevent damage on radio, emergency signal, etc...)

Also, I did not glue the escape pod to the dune.

The dune could be use as a generic scenery without the escape pod (such a bombing crater and I am short on scenery)

And the escape pod can be use stand alone as well

I thought about magnetizing the pod and the base but I magnetize my models to that would create a real problem.  I also have more than enough blast crater type terrain that I don't have to worry about having this particular piece for that.

I like your though.  I'm trying to figure out how much reentry damage to put on mine.

I made mine easy, no magnets. I mostly use blu-tack for such things.

And just a bit of black residula smoke to the rear of the front bracking propeller.

But i Luke to recognize the hard plastic was a good choice for this model kit. Each part fits perfectly to the other ones. There is no comparaison possible with the downed at-st
