Quasars and QBT. Other expansions with 'unusable' cards?

Hello All.

Not sure if this question is for this section but it doesn't fit any of the others either.

Has there been an explanation from FFG as to why the Quasars expansion comes with Quad Battery Turrets? Neither of the variants can use it and it only comes in this pack (on the Imperial side).

Has there been another expansion which came with cards that can't be used by the ship they came with?

The upgrade had been developed as a way to add something to existing ships (like the Vic) and releasing it in that wave with the Quasar was a timely means of distributing it. Just speculation. But, basically, “The meta needs X,” FFG says, so they pack it up with whatever is being released.

Yeah this, they also come in the Hammerheads for Rebels. Easiest way to distribute it fairly, otherwise Imps would have to wait or buy a Rebel ship.

Fair distribution is not in FFG's nature, Rebels have had to wait for the Starhawk to get some Flight Controllers, where as the Imps get it on 2 ships.

To be fair, the newer releases are a bit different: both the starhawk and the onager come with Local Fire control and heavy fire zone, the SSD came with a lot of cards that previously could only be obtained buying other expansions. So I would consider this a welcome improvement compared to earlier releases.

yeah, they're getting better.

A card pack for Armada would be nice though.

Or just some reprints...Raiders are over 99 USD on amazon and I found an Aquitens over 150!! still no luck finding an Imperial squadrons II

Couple on eBay for 30 with an hour left.  Really surprised they’re marked up too.
