Yeah, I'm hoping that the arms fit perfectly on one of the standing bodies, since I think the Z-6 looks weird on a kneeling trooper.

I believe they will, the bodies look similar to the Phase I clones and I assembled one of my squads with a Z-6 kneeling.

You've either got to give him something to rest the gun on (like a rock) if you want him in an active firing position.  Otherwise lower it down a little and he looks like he's at rest/seeking cover.  That looks perfectly fine.

Is anyone else slightly disappointed that, unlike the box art, none of these clones come with kamas or additional shoulder pads (aside from the captain)? I was hoping to paint them as the 327th like the box art depicts! I still can't wait for them, but hopefully we'll get an equipment pack for them later or something.

Only one character is depicted as having that, so it’s presumably the squad leader.

Yeah, except even the squad leader doesn't have the kama, unlike the box art. And all the 327th had kamas, shoulder pads, or both in the Felucia scene of RotS. It's just an odd choice to depict the 327th on the box without the option of making them that way, that's all.

The card art on the Phase I Upgrade Expansion for the RPS-6 and Captain don't have shoulder pads and yet the minis do...the Clones I guess aren't getting minis that match their art.

I wish at least a couple of them had the pads/kamas so the Phase IIs had a bit more to stand out from Storms/Phase Is, and really hope the Z-6 gets the visor on his helm like that card art (but they aren't showing his helmet)

Me too. After seeing the lack of kamas I'm going to hold off on 327th colors and wait and see if they do an upgrade pack for them with kamas.

Currently I'm trying to decide if I want to paint this set as 501st, Shock Troopers, or 212th (orange). I'm leaning toward 212th.

How are you all going to paint your phase IIs?

in the cartoon they sling those Z-6 guns around like they're made  out of aluminum.  One guy is flying around a spaceship with his, one is jumping out of the drop ship and several times they run and shoot at the same time and yell "CLankers!"

So, would these best be served with mortar and overwatch? Or just slap z6 on them and make them a premium P1 with the extra surge and the courage?

I am trying to decide between these, another P1 (I only have 4), or neither and wait for more unit types like the SF.

From what I've seen so far, it's probably better to run them with the mortar and overwatch. Z-6 and offensive push could work as well, but P1s can do that as well albeit at a higher point cost.

Honestly I'd wait a couple of months to see if the leak is true or not before buying more P1 or P2. The old 4-2 model doesn't hold up with the Republic so it's a tough call.

What do you mean? Are you just referring to buying 4 Phase Is and 2 Phase II boxes? I am planning on running 4 Phase I squads with 2 Phase II squads as soon as they come out...

I actually am referring to that. It's also how most old imperial and rebel lists were flushed out with a 2:1 ratio of normal troopers to your close range troopers.

Oh okay lol

Right now, I have 2 Phase II boxes on order, simply because I don't see you wanting more than that, due to their point cost, but I could be wrong. I think any Republic player needs to prioritize the Upgrade pack for Phase I clones to get the Specialists.

For Phase II, I think they're going to be strongest as a team with the mortar, move + Standby with Overwatch, or, use another squad's Standby. But, I am also totally over the Z6 (coming from Rebels lol). I don't know that I'll ever play another Z6 haha

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

Also as a former rebel player I don't miss the Z-miss, but now I play droids and B1s are basically just a Z-6. I didn't choose the white dice life, the white dice life chose me.

Love it! Hate the white dice!

Clones... (pg 21)

Quote

A clone trooper unit may spend the green tokens of a friendly clone trooper unit at range 1 and in line of sight as if they were their own.

» Green tokens include aim, dodge, standby, and surge tokens.

this is why I hate FFG games.

Make the rules and make them right the first time.. Don't require 48 accessory cards which need to be errata'd every 4-6months. There's no way to keep up with all the changes or unwritten or newly written rules.

what do you mean? the rules are unique to Clones, and they were added to the game when the clones came out... this has nothing to do with an errata?

No errata. It was new rules added when the clone subtype came to exist. No other unit beforehand had any definition of “green tokens” or a reason to classify tokens beyond what token they were.

Also, what miniatures game doesn't require an errata or update every 6-12 months?

Why aren't these printed on the Reference Cards included with all the Clone Trooper cards I've bought? There's plenty of room

FFG does this with all of their games, not just Legion.  I've seen it with Destiny, Imperial Assault, Armada, X-wing 1.0/2.0 and Legion.

I think the complaint is less about errata and more about the fact that this rule is in the book and not on the cards.  Clone (and Droid) should really be a keyword.

edit:  Or at least explained on the back where they explain weapon keywords.

So you know this is how they operate via those other games and instead of just looking in the rule book as you would have with the others, you instead come onto a forum and complain to people.  This seems more like a demand for them to conform to what you want and not set up a system that allows changes to be in one spot vs on every card (which is why points shouldn't have been listed on cards, something xwing2.0 learned).
