Nspace 360 Posted December 27, 2019 Best Fight Scene: Rey and Kylo vs Snoke's Praetorian Guard, The Last Jedi. That is hands down my favorite fight scene in the entire Star Wars franchise. And an additional category: Best Last Stand: Darth Vader vs Rebel Troopers, Rogue One That scene gives me chills. Vader comes off as the true terror that he should be and the Rebel Troopers know that they are doomed, but stand their ground anyway just to buy time to get the plans away. It might be my favorite scene in all of Rogue One. 5 Parakitor, FTS Gecko, TasteTheRainbow and 2 others reacted to this

Agreed on both counts: best in the Disney movies AND the saga. 1 hour ago, FTS Gecko said: Best Original Villain Character: Director Krennic. Great list! Lots to reflect on with the new surge of Star Wars movies. There is definitely a lot to love about them. This one in particular was thought provoking. My immediate answer is "Kylo Ren best bad guy ever!" Really liked his story. But Director Krennic had some really great moments and was a deep and interesting character. He was passionate about his project, and was dedicated to seeing it through. His line, "Oh, it's beautiful!" really highlights how detached the Imperial officers had become about death and destruction, especially on outer rim worlds. And of course, his direct interactions with Grand Moff Tarkin are imo timeless. I still think I liked Kylo Ren more as a villain tempted by the light. Maybe that's just because of the whole "will he? won't he?" question so common in serial dramas. I may change my mind after some more time passes, but I loved how bad he was just to try to convince himself (and his master) that he was bad. But I can totally see why Krennic made top spot in your opinion. 2 CoffeeMinion and FTS Gecko reacted to this

Red Castle 3,875 Posted December 27, 2019 First of, thanks for creating this thread that focus on the positive. I like it! And here's my take! Best Original Hero Ship Design: MC-75 cruiser, Profundity (I just love those Mon Calamari cruisers) Best Original Villain Ship Design: Upsilon-class Shuttle (so majestic and threatening) Best Original Hero Character: Poe Dameron (and to think he was supposed to die in Episode 7...) Best Original Villain Character: Kylo Ren (Adam Driver is such a great actor, I can really feel how he is thorn apart) Best Returning Hero: Luke Skywalker (always been more of a Han fan, but man does Mark Hamil performance in Last Jedi was great!) Best Returning Villain: Tarkin (I was not expecting it and it was so great to see the rivalry between him and Krennic, it served the story really well and Rogue One would not be the same without him) Best Cameo: Wedge (though call... there is just so many... if actors count I would go with Justin Theroux though!) Best Re-cast Character: Alden Ehrenreich (as a Han fan, I was really wary on this one at first, but he sold it to me and now I'm really hoping we get a sequel as a movie or series for Solo) Best Original Droid Character: K-2S0 (the only character of Rogue One I was really sad to see get destroyed/die on my first viewing) Best Original Location: Canto Bight (it might not be the best sequence of the movie, but boy do I love how the place contrast with everything else and will definetly bring my players there in my Edge of the Empire game for all it's potencial!) Best Original Alien Design: Dowutin (very though call and not sure on this one because there is sooo many, but I really like this design... might have to do with the Ninth Sister) Best Original Creature Design: Rathtar (love the sound they make) Best Space Battle: Battle of Scarrif (as much as I think it was not really necessary in the movie, it was a great space battle to watch) Best Ground Battle: Battle of Crait (visually stunning with the red explosions, as if the planet was bleeding) Best Fight Scene: Luke Vs Kylo (best lightsaber duel in the entire saga! So much emotion! Luke being a real jedi by fighting without actually fighting and Kylo is just brutal with his double slash!) Best Musical Score: The Last Jedi (would have gone with Force Awaken for Rey and Kylo theme plus Maz Castle music, but the song 'The Spark' is just perfect and resonate too much with me) Best Trailer: Force Awaken (probably has to do that it was also annoucing the return of Star Wars to the big screen after 10 years) Best Director: Rian Johnson (seeing episode 9 made me miss him and his style even more, I really hope that we get to see another movie from him, not tied to the saga this time) Best Overall Film: The Last Jedi Overall Rankings: 1: The Last Jedi 2: The Force Awakens 3: Rogue One 4: Solo 5: The Rise of Skywalker 4 Demon4x4, Momonip, GreenDragoon and 1 other reacted to this

Forgottenlore 9,838 Posted December 27, 2019 (edited) Best Original Hero Ship Design: U-Wing. (More because the Disney films have so few original designs) Best Original Villain Ship Design: Upsilon-class Shuttle. (As above) Best Original Hero Character: K2SO Best Original Villain Character: Kylo Ren (while all the sequels have lots of problems, I did really like the characters in them) Best Returning Hero: None of them. They were all butchered. Best Returning Villain: Darth Vader, Rogue One. Best Cameo: Dr. Evezan and Pondo Baba, Rogue One Best Re-cast Character: Lando Calrissian, Solo. (Not a whole lot of options here) Best Original Droid Character: K-2SO. Best Original Location: Scarif Best Original Alien Design: Nothing, all the original aliens have been spectacularly uninteresting Best Original Creature Design: As above Best Space Battle: Battle of Scarif. Best Ground Battle: Don’t recall the planet, but robbing the mining colony in Solo Best Fight Scene: Probably Rey and Kylo in Rise of Skywalker Overall Rankings: 1: Solo 2: The Rise of Skywalker. 3: Rogue One. 4: The Last Jedi. 5: The Force Awakens. FTS Gecko 24,135 Posted December 27, 2019 Any other categories people can think of? Best Supporting Character? (For me, K-2SO) Best One-Liner? (Probably Han's "That's not how the Force works!") Best Rivalry? (Krennic/Tarkin, just perfect seeing two senior Imperial officers trying to usurp each other) For me, most of the choices were easy apart from the Best Hero/Best Villain. I so wanted to say Finn and/or Rey, and if I was basing it purely on their represntation in The Force Awakens, I might have gone with Finn. Same with Kylo; it was very difficult to choose between him and Krennic, but Krennic had the less convoluted story. Sometimes less is more. Benthic and Edrio remain to me the best new alien designs since the OT.
dsul413 1,273 Posted December 27, 2019 Best Stormtrooper/uniform design? There are so many across these movies. I have to say the hovertank driver. It’s such a cool look. That or Sith Trooper. Agreed on the Tognaths. They’ve shown up in other media too and they’re just really **** cool. 1 FTS Gecko reacted to this

This is why I shouldn’t write before coffee. You’re 100% right. Deathtrooper may be the best design of a trooper in any Star Wars canon. Some of the new purge troopers could make a run at it maybe. If there is one thing Disney-era has absolutely crushed, in my opinion, it’s the work of the design team across aliens/troopers/ships. Even when the story calls for derivative models/looks. 1 FTS Gecko reacted to this
