federalchipmunk1980 19 Posted December 23, 2019 so after the Jan points increase, im thinking of starting a new faction and after watching RoS i want to go to Resistance. can any one recommend any lists to look at and what i should start with buying 1st. i like fluffy/theme lists but also as competitive as i can be. any help would be appreciated for this completely new faction for me thanks
ChahDresh 390 Posted December 23, 2019 If getting in quickly and cheaply is important, buy one T70, one Resistance Transport, and one RZ2 Awing. There are lots of variations on lists with those 4 ships (since the Transport also gets you the Pod), along the lines of Greer/Temmin/Finn/Cova. If a gentle entry to the faction is more important, start with 3 T70s and an RZ2, then find the thread on this page entitled "3.5 Xs". It has a ton of ideas. The basic outline is Temmin/Bastian/Jess/A-wing pilot to taste. It's a high floor list with a solid track record. 5 wurms, Flurpy, Greebwahn and 2 others reacted to this

As mentioned, there are many variations of this archetype (see https://meta.listfortress.com/ship_combos/1854/squadrons?ranking_start=2019-09-10), but I'll second the Greer/Temmin/Finn/Cova combo, which has lots of fun tools and options. The thread can be found here: FYI, after the Resistance Transport was released, the list evolved to Temmin/Bastian/Jess/Finn (Pod), which is also quite solid. 3 Flurpy, Mistborn_Jedi and federalchipmunk1980 reacted to this
dadocollin 738 Posted December 29, 2019 If you want fairly straightforward X-wing, some combo of X-wings and A-wings would be a good place to start. You’ll be surprised how much you like the Resistance A-wing if you’ve never flown it. As others have posted, there are extensive discussion threads in this forum about multiples of either of these or a combo of the two. If you like more upgrade/crew tooling, the transport does give a lot of options and as mentioned comes with two ships. I can’t think of any good reason to tell you to get a Starfortress besides the fact that I personally love it and it has its own unique feel on the board that’s a lot of fun. (At this point though, it would require you buying the 2.0 bits off eBay or getting a full conversion.) Nothing will make you feel more like a member of the Resistance then watching your fortress burn up on the board! Ill also mention the Fireball comes out soon, which would allow you to get in with something new and probably fits in easily with some combo of X and A wings. bitsai 58 Posted December 29, 2019 There's also Rey (in the YT-1300) + friends, which is probably the most fun I've had with Resistance lists, even if certain match-ups can be tough (which might just means it's pretty balanced?): 1 Flurpy reacted to this
Waldorf28 195 Posted December 29, 2019 I am also considering starting Resistance once the Fireball is released. If I have a list with one Transport and one Pod in it do I need to buy two Transport blisters? Or can you legally fly the transport without the Pod attached? In a tournament technically not, but I haven't met an organiser who cared about it enough to argue.
