Maybe I'm missing something.  How do we know that Rosario Dawson is lined up to be Ahsoka?

We don’t. It’s rumor and speculation fueled by comments that apparently an established character who’s appeared only in animation will show up in season 2.

Personally, I’m inclined to think the lack of either confirmation or denial by LFL is intentional, letting the audience run along on a wild goose chase, while an as-yet-unannounced guest star will appear as this character (whoever it is), such as - for example/wishful thinking - someone like Katee Sackhoff appearing as Bo Katan (a character whose inclusion would be a lot more natural than Ahsoka).

I hope this is the case, except maybe the Bo Katan thing. I really like Bo Katan, but I don't think I like the idea that she wouldn't have gone down fighting. If she did survive, I hope they have a really good explanation for why and how. At the same time, if she is dead, I hope they did it right. Not sure what "right" would be, but I've always been sketchy on the death of characters I like. Guess I'll just have to wait and see...

*glances at calendar, then groans* Six and a half more months...

Who says - if it were Sackhoff as Bo Katan - that it would take place in the show’s present, and not be the story of how Gideon got the Darksaber?

At any rate, it was just meant as an illustration of the kind of misdirection I think it may be. 😁

Well, then it would go back to what I said about her hypothetical death. We'll just have to wait and see.

Well, that would explain why I have no idea who he is. *shrug*

That man is a legend and a treasure! You go out back and give yourself a good whipping for your ignorance!

Ten lashes. Twenty if you complain.

...kids these days *grumble*

That sounds more like what I remembered hearing.

At any rate, I’m glad he did, because Amy Allen was delightful when I got to meet her at a con. 😁

According to writer John Ostrander, George Lucas happened to see the cover to issue #33 of the first Dark Horse series.

He liked Aayla Secura’s character design, which had been created by artist Jan Duursema, and wanted to use Aayla in Attack of the Clones as one of the many Jedi seen at the end of the film in the Geonosian arena.

Aayla’s master Quinlan Vos was later name dropped in Revenge of the Sith.

Fan art never had anything to do with this.

Love me some Ostrander. His Suicide Squad can’t be beat.

But I just never warmed to Quinlan Vos.

I too absolutely loved his Suicide Squad (and Hawkworld).

However, I also came to love Quin, Villie, Aayla, Bly, Tholme, and a lot of his other SW creations.

But, you know, diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.  😎

Quinlan just too obviously seemed to tick off a “bad boy checklist.” He’s got his fans, but just never did anything for me.

But then, I had much the same reaction to Stargate: Atlantis’ Ronon Dex. Didn’t mind Momoa’s performance, but it just seemed like the writing for the character was, for want of a better term, trying too hard.

I found him to be mostly just your basic noir detective protagonist, with a lightsaber, which instantly made him one of my favourites. Clone Wars surfer dude Quinlan on the other hand I can't stand.

I really liked Ostrander's Legacy comics and the shortlived Agent Of The Empire  series about basically Imperial James Bond.

I didn't really get into Vos in the comics, but his appearance in TCWs, I thought was great.  It was nice to see a "hippy" Jedi and someone far more relaxed than Obi Wan's stuffiness.

I also didn't like Vos in the Ventress book.  Doubly so because of what happened to Ventress... but I digress.

Voss also appeared in Mos Espa on Tatooine in TPM.

More accurately, a background character that would be retconned into Vos when Ostrander and Duursema were later asked to build a full character around that character appeared in Mos Espa.
