The Jabbawookie 5,613 Posted November 1, 2019 Already pretty good! There are a few slots that could use filling; the Hammerhead in Profundity should probably have ordnance experts or a boarding team, and Profundity could use an officer like Lando, Walex or IO. You won't be dropping an SSD or ISD in a single activation, but that's not always mutual. Expanded Launchers is overpriced for what it does; ACM or APTs are nice ways to get the same or better results while saving points. One downside is working through DCO; Intel Officer is a nice way to threaten a fresh contain or brace on the second attack, since the Ordnance cruiser has a hard time reliably locking down defense tokens. Or you can switch to an Armored Cruiser, which makes up for not wanting black crit upgrades by taking a turbolaser (like QBT or XI7) and Boarding Troopers (which the Hammerhead can also take, shredding their defense tokens as a team before Profundity unloads.) Taking Raddus off his lifeboat and onto a CR90 should pay for the changes and help the bid (or pay for Engine Techs); you could add Quantum Storm and optionally Slicers to keep your activation count and have better flexibility when dropping. If you do go for BTs, Hondo gets you a squad token after dropping, allowing Profundity to confire.
DakkaDakka12 206 Posted November 3, 2019 @The Jabbawookie what if I drop the hammerhead lifeboat and 1 cr90 for an assault frigate? Does that sound worth it? part of the reason i had the hammerhead before was for more activations. I can see your point with expanded launchers, which one of the two would help remove my opponents offense faster? I do not know the crit deck too well so I generally go for damage>crits, but if there is a lot of crits that reduce offense, I could see that as worth it. Assault Frigates are the kind of ship that wants to be a core component in a list (Ackbar makes them warships, Dodonna or Rieekan make them carriers.) It’s not a particularly good fit for Raddus because it isn’t terribly maneuverable for drops, doesn’t hit that hard, and probably shouldn’t try to trap bigger targets for fear of getting blown up. Adding the flotilla means no loss in activations, an expendable drop platform, and the ability to take Most Wanted, making the ship you target really worth a lot. APT vs ACM: it’s kind of a wash, depending on what you’re fighting and what APT would flip; ACM will seldom do anything to reduce the target’s offensive potential except kill them quickly (which is great.) I would very generally say there are 8 structural damages in the deck, which are equal to or better than ACM. Then about 20 other cards total are game-changing in specific circumstances (comm noise against a carrier, life support failure against BTAvenger, etc) and then maybe 10 often make a difference (like projector misaligned or faulty countermeasures.) If you’re not too familiar with crits it’s probably best to stick with ACM so you know your capabilities, unless you want to make a point of learning them (which is useful.) DakkaDakka12 206 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) Second attempt. I am not sure if it is better to give my big drop a offense or defense officer. As far as bids, 10 points is usually enough against my typical opponent. Name: Just in the nick of time. R4Pi3R 101 Posted November 3, 2019 Major Derlin has very limited use. In a full standard game he will prevent 6 damage at max, due to the fact he's exhaust to use. As the MC-75 is in Raddusspace, that goes down to 4 / 5 at max, if you wait to deploy in a better position. What you want with that ship is jump in, deal 1 or 2 rounds of hard hitting against an enemy ship, in the hope of destroying it and then peel away again, in the hope not to die alongside the opponent. I'd go pretty offensive and would give Intel Officer a go. Block their brace and, if they have two, accuracy the other if possible. The Beauty in IO is, that you can look at your initial roll, before deciding. Same goes for ExRax! As a defensive altrnative, you've got Walex Blissex, so you can abuse your single brace + ECMs, or Lando to equalize a single big hit. But again: You want to do as much damage as possible in the round of the drop and the one after. After that, it is very possible, that the cruiser will already want to or have to peel off battle. Alpharius18 41 Posted November 4, 2019 Slightly more expensive in terms of point cost, but a leading shots Dodonnas Pride CR90b is also a good choice for the Profundity. Any chance to get a crit on a big ship and score something nice like projector misalignment is never a bad option, though you do forfeit the max. damage and overload of shields that comes with an external rack Hammerhead. Personal choice really!
spike2109 66 Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) Go for ATP and Lando on the MC75. SSD and ISD don't like open damage cards. I have won games because of the right card (imagine an ISD at Speed 1 that has to slow down...). Lando is great to survive in front of an ISD for example vs. a BTA list. Also think about Jaina's Light on Raddus so you can fly it more defensively. As Raddus you want to be first player mostly, so you can increase your bid. Your Hammerhead can strike first ... and against other Raddus lists you have the choice to be 2nd to counter the drop. To increase the bid just drop a CR90, get another Flotilla and go for Engine Techs on the other CR90s (that will increase your drop range, I always drop on Round 2!). Also think about your objectives. If you go for 2nd, make it a hard time for your opponent and try to control the battlefield. Suggestions: Most Wanted, Solar Corona, Contested Outpost. 90% of the times your opponent will go for the outpost. TheRedScourge 21 Posted November 12, 2019 I was using cr90B with overload pluse coming out of Profundity that had boarding troopers. For ships with no ecm or damage control officer just say goodnight
