Trained in your Jedi Arts (Grievous lightsaber mod)

Recommended Posts

Ever since I saw the clone wars core set announced I wanted to see if I could get Grievous to have 4 lightsabers lighted up with LED. I really suck at painting lightsabers so modifying them like this while difficult for me ends up with a much better model. I still have a few parts around the lightsabers to paint to tone down the lighted effects, but I really like what I've been able to accomplish so far with this model.

Very well done

I still want to touch up some of the areas around the lightsabers to tone the light down a bit, but it was many hours just to get to this product and I am happy with it so far, I suck at painting lighted effects like lightsabers so this is my solution to that.

It looks really cool!

I might try this if I get courage at one point.

Have you considered giving them a matte varnish coat to make the light diffuse more evenly along the sabers?

I’m not sure what you I tend to do, but I am in favor of leaving the light the way it is.  It looks great.

just trying to cover up areas where the light is shining through on the arms or hands next to the lightsaber, I like it much better after putting it on the table this weekend, I also need to file the ends of the saber to make it look more uniform and of course finish the basing. Also thank you very much for your kind words. I put a lot of effort into this model, not just wiring but also painting. I am by no means an expert in this technique and am glad to hear the positive responses.
