drail14me 1,255 Posted October 13, 2019 I've just cracked open my Rebel Veterans and Tauntauns. I'd like to paint them as thematic as possible. Does anyone have a good list of suggested paint colors to use for the Rebel Veterans and Tauntaun riders?
BigBadAndy 640 Posted October 14, 2019 The rebel forces in Hoth are normally depicted as having a warm white/off white base uniform with a light gray for their boots and scarves and vests. Some of the toys change the gray scarves to a reddish brown. In art and stills from the films, the appearance varies quite a bit based on what scene it is and the lighting etc. All of which is to say I think any off white and light gray will do fine. It will look like the veterans as they appear at some point in the film.
OuterPop 208 Posted October 14, 2019 For me, the scheme on this sculpt from Sideshow has been the template for the Tauntauns:
Alpha17 2,853 Posted October 15, 2019 I did some Vets and Tauntauns in a variety of colors as a commission, including some thematic ones. Main colors I used were Vallejo Green-Grey, and Khaki, with the occasional bit of English Uniform or gray thrown in. They're not my favorite, but they seemed to have turned out OK. I've got a few more pictures in my painting thread.
