xanatos135 64 Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) So this is just speculation: how would the V-wing be designed for the republic? We are probably getting it at some point I think since it's the predecessor of the TIE it would be nice to have the same 2/3/3 stats, but with a few tweaks: I would add to them the linked actions barrel roll to focus and boost to focus as well as some more blue in the dial, maybe the 2 turns as the interceptor. Add to it an astromech slot and possibly some missiles (not so important) and a cost of around 28 or so for an I1 generic. I think something like that would be nice for republic squads, like an easier to kill A-wing/ a better version of a TIE ln. What do you think, any other ideas? CaptainJaguarShark 2,050 Posted October 14, 2019 Canon numbers are a little iffy. What I seem to be getting from them is that the V-Wing should be faster than the TIE/ln but I'm not clear on which one should be more maneuverable. Maybe the V-wing gets its blues and reds in a higher speed than the TIE/ln does? Not sure about the linked actions, honestly. I always thought that the V-Wing was just an earlier version of the TIE (but apparently a little faster, maybe even less safe for the pilot?) Astromech is a must, missiles is a maybe, agreed there. 1 Odanan reacted to this
KCDodger 11,041 Posted October 20, 2019 It's not going to have missiles. Or at the very least, it seriously shouldn't. 1 CaptainJaguarShark reacted to this

Isn't the only source for that an FFG RPG sourcebook? I guess it being their book, they might add it. 1 KCDodger reacted to this
Hiemfire 7,292 Posted October 20, 2019 M3-A minus hardpoint and 1 banks with astromech slot and 3 turns added. 1 CaptainJaguarShark reacted to this
Odanan 5,439 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) Just to keep it different, I would give the V-Wing a attack, because of the "moving" laser cannons*. 2 or 3 attack value (2 dual light rapid-fire laser cannons). There is nothing about shields or missiles in new canon, so that would depend of what is needed in the faction. 2 hull, if shielded, or 3 hull if not. Astromech, sure. *only in Legends Edited October 21, 2019 by Odanan

Yep, but this is a 2d game... since they can't go backwards, a wider arc would make sense. I guess...
