Gamer 14 Posted October 7, 2019 I see FFG has not yet updated their Arkham Horror: The Card Game Investigator Decklists file for The Dream-Eaters. Are they no longer updating this? While I am sure many people do not use it I will be disappointed if they do not update it.
Assussanni 528 Posted October 7, 2019 It will be interesting to see what they do, since under the assumption of a single Core Set and one copy of the Dream-Eaters deluxe I don't think you can build Patrice alongside any of the other investigators from the Dream-Eaters. Patrice needs all the level 0 Survivor, Mystic and Neutral cards from the Core Set and the Dream-Eaters, including all 10 Neutral skill cards from the Core Set to reach her deck size of 42. She can't play with Tommy (overlap with Survivor) or Luke (overlap with Mystic), but it's also not possible to build a 30 card deck for either Mandy or Tony (both because they can't take more than 10 cards from their secondary class and because they can't be assets). Faranim 63 Posted October 7, 2019 But Patrice could be paired with Skids or Roland with just a single Core (with Patrice hogging all the skill cards) right? We only used it for our very first game (when we only owned a single Core). After learning the rules to the game it's not hard to build a level 0 deck that's better than the starter decklist. Skeptical Gamer 31 Posted October 7, 2019 It may be possible to make a legal deck, but it isn't possible to make a playable deck. With her special rules, putting in everything including the kitchen sink just means you will be sitting around uselessly watching a lot of pretty cards cycle by... I think we have to accept that some characters are just going to be for people with more cards. I'm okay with that as long as it doesn't happen very often. I think we have to give the designers a little leeway if we want to keep getting new and fun character designs. 2 Mimi61 and rsdockery reacted to this

Mimi61 457 Posted October 7, 2019 That is true, but obviously as cards continue to release in the Dream Eater cycle it will add to her deck building options if you only have the core set to work with. It is true though, that for any investigator, having access to more cards is going to build better, more versatile decks than what FFG can suggest with just core cards. If you fall in love with the game, maybe a good question to ask would be which of the deluxe expansions minus Mythos packs released would be worth investing in so as not to break the bank. Which has the best investigators and player cards? I just went back to see what cards came from where and that is a tough question to answer! I guess it comes down to what you want more of. Forgotten Age gave every class except Gurdians a new ally. The Circle Undone gave every class a Tarot card. Carcosa had a couple of events for every class, except Survivor who got one event and the only skill. Dunwich has a little of everything. A few allies, some assets, events and a skill. It’s pretty across the board, but I would say that survivors probably make out best. It also has the investigators which all have the same secondary build of 5 0 level cards from any class, which works well with having a smaller card pool. Faranim 63 Posted October 19, 2019 Some minor errors I noticed Mandys list has Occult Evidence and Astonishing Revelation listed as Assets Mandy and Luke list a card named Astonishing Revelation, but isn’t the card Astounding Revelation?
Gamer 14 Posted October 30, 2019 A new Investigator Decklists (V.6.1) was posted yesterday. It looks like all errors have been corrected except for a minor miss-worded sentence in Mandy Thompson Strategy Tips.
