Arkham Nights 2019

The Skids wanted poster is a fun idea.  I wish I could attend.  I didn't get out to Gencon this year either and Blob looks like it's definitely designed to be played with a large crowd.

I can't get to GenCon (of at least haven't yet) but I've been to the last 2 Arkham Nights as I live 3 hours away and have family nearby.  That said, I do bribe people who go to GenCon, so I have played Blob (by myself, double fisted) and it's terrific.

I also paid $55 for Final Hour, which is surprisingly fun.  Very much looking forward to going down for this again!

That's encouraging that it was still fun with two investigators.  I'll buy the pack regardless, but I felt like I was missing out by not attending the big events.  Just can't travel this year.

I’m so jealous!  We live States away from both Arkham Nights and GenCon and know no one to bribe...  Arkham Nights may have to be a goal for next year. The goodie bag looks pretty amazing.

These are very frustrating \ disappointing \ sad for overseas players, I wish FFG will federate some of these events for other regions.

They do happen all over the place.

Europe had four last year.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any events in Australia in years, which means we miss out on just about every promo. For example, I'm still a bit uneasy about not getting Ashcan Pete in Arkham Horror 3rd Edition, even though US players got him a year ago.

It would be nice if FFG provided alternative ways to get these promos. Anything would be cheaper than the greedy resellers on Ebay.

Where can I buy The Blob That Ate Everything? It looks awesome and I’d love to get a copy.

As we understand it all Organised Play for Australia is organised by the distributor.

So you will need to pester them directly for OP activity.

Fortunately all FFG OP is kit based so any local office/ official distributor around the globe can, in theory, order up an Arkham Nights kit or two.

Does Australia have any large conventions or gaming centres that could hold something like this?

Last year many of the European ones were as part of conventions, or run by a dedicated gaming centres like IQ Gaming Centre in Huddersfield UK.

Hope that helps

eBay.  It's selling for about 32USD, which is 160% of what you can expect it to MSRP for.  Otherwise, we wait.

That's about what I paid for it on ebay. I consider it worth it. I played two-handed solo and it was tons of fun. Seems like a scenario with lots of replay value.

Exactly.  It's my kind of silly and I look forward to playing in a large group at Arkham Nights '19.  Buy it early or wait, it'll be giddy fun whenever you play it.

Since we are supposed to bring our own decks but basic weaknesses are drawn from the same pool, will they be handed out or do we bring our own basic weaknesses too?

Bring your own complete decks.

I thought weaknesses were supposed to be limited to what comes in 1 set.

Typically, yes but it is a loose rule. And as long as you choose randomly there’s an element of trust as the game is a coop and not overtly competitive in nature. Nobody will be double checking your decks at the door, 😛, but they should all contain the appropriate amount of basic weaknesses for the xp in the deck.

More often than not, I believe most larger groups (outside of Arkham Nights) have each player use their own weaknesses anyway and I know my group never worries about how many weaknesses are available in total. Often I have a deck or two in the wings or in a campaign in progress and we don’t bother to pull their weaknesses before choosing new ones for new decks.

Thanks!  I was just imagining a scenario where everyone always shows up with the same weakness (whichever one is considered easiest)

It's a per-collection limit. If you're using different collections, you don't interfere with each other's weakness pools.

I usually bring my set of basic weaknesses and draw them just before the first opening hand.
