Luke is my new favorite although that 5 health hurts

Not as bad when you can gate box away from enemies. Grasping hands and the like can be scary though. Luckily he can storm of spirits at locations he is not at!

I'm pretty sure the Storm of Spirits backfire still hits Luke, since he's effectively at that location. I got some decent mileage out of Bulletproof Vest when I played him at the Ironman. I also grabbed the new Council card, Purifying Corruption, which was a huge lifesaver against all those agility treacheries in Depths of Yoth.

I am running him in RtPoC while we are waiting for more of Dream-Eaters to release and am really enjoying him. But yes, that 5 is tough, especially since Mystic and Seeker allies are notoriously bad in helping out with damage. I bought Bulletproof Vest for the first time in ages, but it really clashes with his cool 70’s vibe!

Hmmm. Never thought about Storm of Spirits that way. But his card does say he can play one event “as if he were at a connecting location” not that he actually is at that location while playing it.
Semantics I realize, but I am all about the loopholes. He is a dreamer after all. Is he really there??

I have not tried playing Luke yet because I find that "as if" clause a bit puzzling in some circumstances.  I wanted to go through all the events he can includes and see if I can understand how they work with him.  My initial impression is if he can play the cards as if he was at the location then he is at that locations for all intents and purposes for the event card's text.  Then he ceases to be at the location once you finish resolving the card effect.

Just wondering how many cards are in this pack?

I was able to sleeve it with just 2 packs, so maybe 6 fewer than 100.

78

Which is just about 6 fewer than 100!

maybe it’s because penguins don’t have fingers. They just guess!

Just finished a playthrough! It's good, but a bit frustrating at times, the difficulty fluctuates as the scenario progresses. Really wish we'd had someone who can evade. Still, we won with what felt like an "ideal" ending on the hard difficulty.

I like that the chaos bags for standalone are quite sensible (compare to the completely stupid chaos bags for Rougarou standalone for instance). It has some amazing replayability with 10 very different configurations. Treat it a bit like a TFA run, where evasion is a good option to have and a pure monster-hunter might have a rough time. Also, Fine Clothes is a good card to consider...

Yes... we had Tony Silas And Norman and monster hunters had a tough time. Norman has too many things to do. I think high will and int characters are almost mandatory. But we had fun. One thing I do wish is that rewards changed based on the path you unlocked. Instead rewards are the same no matter which ending you get. I can maybe see some people getting frustrated because the ending is chosen randomly and so you wouldn’t know what story asset you would have the chance to get. But there’s a lot of potential to have had some fun and unique assets tied to the outcome.

Played it twice, once with Preston and on e with Patrice. I like the way the different combinations of leads give you different endings. I played on standard, and even though it was enjoyable, I never felt like I was in any danger of losing in either game.

I'm not sure if that's just down to the combination of leads I got in each game, or if I should be playing on hard.

We played it last week with our “waking” investigators Mandy and Tommy as a side scenario. It was very fun, but I will say that Mandy and Open Gate saved our little tushies. I can really see how this has a lot of replay ability though.
