so the idea is, double mods whenever I can
wedge is a monster and theoretically with this build I can capitalize on that

both garven and jake generate free focus's for double mod possibilities
and kellbee looks interesting, keep wings closed for the free boost, and open them just in time to shoot...

seems like it has possibilities

I'm just a noob at this game, but I do like how many opportunities there are for free focus.

It seems to a bit hard to give Wedge double mods due to him moving last (Jake has to end up near Wedge before Wedge moves), but shooting first (Garven would have to spend his focus before Wedge shoots). But the initiative 4 guys are gonna have plenty of chances for free focus. And Wedge is pretty mean even without it.

Huh seems i don't have a kulbee card anywhere

Or the cardboard card that goes on the base.  Not even in the rebel conversion kit

But he does cost the same as thane so there is that option lol

Kullbee is only available in

Saw's Renegades Expansion Pack

Considering a slight change

The heart of the list is similar.  But efficiency and double mods is the name of the game

So what do y'all think of this ?

(0) Servomotor S-foils
(2) Predator
Points: 57

(47) Garven Dreis [T-65 X-wing]

(43) Red Squadron Veteran [T-65 X-wing]

(49) Bodhi Rook [UT-60D U-wing]

If efficiency and double mods based around Wedge is the game you want to play, allow me to suggest:

Wedge with Predator

Jake with Predator

Braylen with Selfless

Partisan Renegade with Leia

Renegade moves and tries to block, doing whatever action is most immediately relevant, and providing Leia shenanigans when necessary. Braylen pulls damage from the others and can get double mods himself. Jake makes sure to roll, focus, boost, pass focus over to whoever needs it most, and at a lower PS, it's easy for him to do that for Wedge. And wedge is Wedge

I have no doubt your list is better...
but I wanted to try and make t65's the focus of my list

although I made a list that has
2 t65's
2 B-Wings
and an awing

that would be an interesting list to fly

It was a bad day. Because it was so last minute we only had 4 players.  3 rounds and I didn't want to bust out something new for it

So I played

Seperatists.  Resistance and first order

In that order.  Lost all 3 rounds

Vs the seperatists, it was a combination of me fighting something new for the first time.  And the dudes dice were HOT.  Only one attack did he not roll a minimum of hit, hit, crit.  It was terrible.  He dropped Jake on turn one with 2 ships shooting at range 3.

Vs the resistance it was a very very narrow loss.  76 vs 71 points.  Ah well.  He played nunb, transport with leia, Finn in the pod and tallissan in the a wing.  Can't be too mad, game was close and the guy ended up 3-0

Vs first order it was kylo with hate, QuickDraw and the other init 5 silencer (blackout?)

Think I was just outpiloted this time. Killed QuickDraw and had both silencers on 2 hull and half points.  All I had left is wedge with one hull when time was called.

All in all it was a very frustrating day due to no fault of my opponents.  Not sure if it was just me not having enough experience (today was my very first tournament) or if this list was just not up to par.

But I learned a little about seperatists.  And souless one title and the impervium plating is just ridiculously gross for 10 points

Ok

Now that I have slept on it.  And had a little time to process

I am now wondering if this list (and t65's in general) are poor and I attempted a subpar fleet list (which is what a few of the guys believe).

Or if it was just a combination of me being new and it being my first tournament.

So I will ask y'all, the wider community.   Are rebels and t65's just in a bad place right now?

I had some success in our local tournament with Luke, Garven, and Dutch all carrying proton torpedoes. That's 3 sets of doubled modded torps at initiative 4/5.

People also sometimes managed to get within range 1...and still eat double modded 4 dice x-wing lasers. It beat down lower init things hard, but got beat up by a guy flying scum aces very very well.

I wouldn't be so bold as to say the T-65 is subpar. It has a bunch of great pilots. I'm not sure your squad construction is as sharp as it could be. Garven and Jake seem kind of redundant if you're flying them together. Did your Red Squad Vet use its torpedoes? It's typically hard for low PS types to use them. Also, if Wedge is getting focuses from Jake and/or Garven, then he's taking locks for his action, which makes Predator moot.

We all know Wedge will be the biggest theeat. Let's earn that by swapping the torpedoes to him, and dropping Pred to give the Vet Selfless. I like that much better. There are other variations on this theme that can all hold their own. Are they the strongest? Mm, maybe not, but they can hang.

The theory was... to spread the threat

Do you target wedge because he is wedge or do you try and pop the proton torp carrying vet

In hindsight you could be correct, the torp vet was always the first go down and ironically wedge was always the last.

But I have started to consider it was more me than the list.  A combination of inexperience and in at least one game just bad luck
