Anything that has Obi-Wan off doing something besides being a hermit on Tatooine is a retcon of his story.

Is it though?
Someone I hadn't talked to in about 15 years once asked me what I'd been up to.  I said "got married, got divorced, dropped out of grad school, played a lot of WoW."
Every word of that is true.  There's also a whole lot that happened that doesn't negate any of those things and could make for interesting stories...they just weren't the broad strokes.
I think you'll find that many of the truths we cling to depend on our point of view.

Given he's expressed a lack of fondness for the extreme fandom that comes with sw, let's hope it's not just  a paycheck for him.

He said recently that he was excited because he saw a sizable rise in appreciation for (at least parts of) the Prequels. That support coming from the people who were kids when those movies came out (Me).

So you're saying when my son is an adult people will have appreciation for the sequels and Kylo Ren will get his own show?

He might. Personally, I really like Kylo now. I'm even able to get quite a bit of enjoyment from the rest of the stuff in the Sequels. Are they perfect? No. Neither were the original trilogy.

Dunno. Obi Wan's popularity is in no small part due to how great the prequel memes are involving him. Kylo doesn't have that going for him currently but that could change.

I fully expect Obiwan to go out and about in the galaxy. Assuming or hoping that nothing will happen to Luke while he is away. Or just thinking "there is another" so losing one out of two aint bad.

Hopefully, the show doesn't just discuss it once and then forget about it forever after that like Obi doesn't care any more. I suspect he will be attempting to save Jedi, protect Luke, deal with tatooines worst, and probably distract Vader and Bounty Hunters more than a few times.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan in the next flashback that The Mandalorian has.

The angle that the B2 has is a pretty good setup for a lightsaber in the back and a very sad "Hello there". I do not remember where, but I read a rumor that Obi saved the child in a flashback. Most people thought it was baby Yoda at the time, but I leaning towards him now saving the Mando as a kid. Also a nice payoff since the Mando now saved a force child.

Obi, Yoda, or a Mando are the three possibilities.  Obi would be ideal, but the others could happen as well.

If it is Obi, I want him in his Clone Wars armor.  Be cool to see it in live action.

I like Ewan as Obi-wan; he stated he spent a lot of time studying Alec Guiness’ Mannerisms and speech, and it shows in some of the little things he does.

i could imagine an arc of him keeping an eye on Luke, while occasionally leaving to follow up leads on purge survivors or furthering his understanding of the force, and how he learns to become a force ghost.

Id like to see some Quinlan Vos in the New Obiwan show.  Granted...im only in season 3 of Clone Wars so he might die...lol but I thought he was cool.

If you've seen him and Obi fighting Cad Bane in TCW, you've seen his only appearance in the show.  If you liked him in that, check out the novel Dark Disciple, as it continues Vos' story.  Even before Dark Disciple came out, we knew he survived the war because he's mentioned by name in Episode III.  No idea if he survived Order 66, however, though it should be remembered that his EU/Legends counterpart did.
