Arc Dodging Han?!

So I was theory-crafting for Resistance when I found that Seasoned Navigator actually works at the same time as Kaydel Connix. So the way I think this would work (please correct me if I am wrong) is with Kaydel, you could increase the speed by 1 (I.E. from lets say a 1 right bank to a 2 right bank). Then, since Seasoned navigator happens at the same time, you could change the maneuver to any non-red maneuver of the same speed (I.E. from the 2 right bank to a 2 sharp turn to the left). This effectively gives you access to any non-red maneuver of the original speed or a speed higher. I originally thought to put this on a Resistance Transport, but I didn't think that being able to drastically change my maneuver on (at highest) an initiative 4 was that deadly. Then I realized that it can go on Han, who is an initiative 6. This would allow him to drastically adapt to any situation, and with having a turret arc, he could adjust as necessary.

But then I realized I could take this a step further. And this build I came up with only costed 97 points. Then I realized that I could take this a step further and put in Leia (crew) and decrease the difficulty of the maneuver back down to what it was before Seasoned Navigator increased it. So I inserted Rey with Leia (crew) and Finn. The list ended up looking like this...

The easiest way to deal with this is just nuke Rey, she's not that hard to pin down and once she's gone, catching han's alot easier. That's also a ton of points for just 2-3 dice attacks.

Don't you have two separate effects that are increasing it? Effects are cumulative: If you have two that increase and only one that decreases, it is still increased. Leia won't be doing you much good there 😕

I think you can get a similar but more independent effect from Just Connix and Korr Sella +title on Han. This way you can reveal a 1 or 2 speed and change it to any 2 or 3 respectively, and then boost, with Sella relieving the issue of racking up 2 stress in the process. Due to this, I also think contraband and Rey's Falcon overlaps a lot, and contraband may be unnecessary.  

As others have said Leia doesn't do a lot for this, and Rey pilot really wants the title too. You could drop Rey in the Falcon, put Rey gunner on Han, and have a powerful Falcon and enough room for some decent wingmen in X-wings/A-wings.

I tried this a couple nights ago at our weekly league. My list was:

Han Solo - Seasoned Nav, Lone wolf, Kaydel Connix, Engine Upgrade

Rey - Leia

12 point bid.

Only got the test it once against imperial aces, me as second player. I feel like the list has some legs. Han is super slippery, but needs to play aggressive. Rey still burns down quickly and once she’s gone Han has almost no hope by himself. I made the mistake of not playing aggressive enough with Han, so Rey quickly became the main target.

It would need a lot of practice to use effectively, but definitely feels like there’s something there.

contraband was really necessary for those turns you are stressed, and need to change your maneuver, which becomes red, because otherwise you’d be doing a white 2 straight. It also allows you to perform any action, not only rotate arc or boost. Rey gunner is SO good!

That's a good question, though I believe the acting player controls the timing, and since all 3 cards are at the same timing, 'after dial is revealed'. If so, the acting player can decide  to do:

1 Kaydel - 2 Seasoned - 3 Leia,  which makes the revealed white maneuver:

red - still red - white

No it's like @ClassicalMoser said. All the difficulty modifications are added and checked simultaneously.

The one thing funny about all this is that you can mod your attack dice or your defense with the force and do other actions while stressed. 

I also see the point that you can remove 1982 stress tokens with Kor Sella. but I would not put her in the Falcon. I'd put Chewbacca for giving more mods for the attack. There won't be sloops, but the falcon don't need S-loops. He only needs not to be blocked to continue to do his things

I’ve been playing Han Corran for the last 2 months, but his Han plays very different. My Rebel han never sloops, but I’ve done it several times with this one. If I perform a Focus action, y almost always get my 3 hits (LW, rey, focus) so i don’t need Chewie at all. And getting rid of ALL your stress tokens AT ONCE is worth gold to me.

in order to not get blocked I have Kaydel Connix, and if I use her I usually stress myself even more...

It's a pity. Trajsim deserves to be 7-8, but 10 is probably a little high.

In the meantime I feel like there has to be a way to make it work without though. Could PS or CD be worthwhile? And does it work better now as a bomber or a gunship? I don't play Resistance so it's hard to say.

With good gunners the bomber IS a beast to be scared of. Just having proton bombs, Paige and VTG alone is enough to make it scary... But it needs equally scary escort, is the problem. Because it WILL get focused the frak down.
