Rebel list - Beginner need tips&tricks

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Started out with X-Wing 2.0 two months ago and need some tips to lists to fly, espesiaclly with YT-1300.

I have the following ships (no conv kits):

- 3 X-Wings (core + exp + Renegades)
- 1 U-Wing (Renegades)
- 1 Y-Wing (exp)
- YT-1300 (coming tomorrow)
- Thinking of buying a B-Wing

Look a bit at the Han/Luke thread and going to try out that this week.

Appreciate all the help I can get :)

Hello and welcome to the game!

Maybe try something like this?

Lando Calrissian (80)
    Trick Shot (4)
    Nien Nunb (5)
    Magva Yarro (8)

Ship total: 97  Half Points: 49  Threshold: 7

Wedge Antilles (55)
    R4 Astromech (2)
    Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Ship total: 57  Half Points: 29  Threshold: 3

Blue Squadron Escort (41)
    R4 Astromech (2)
    Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Ship total: 43  Half Points: 22  Threshold: 3

Total: 197

Put your obstacles in the centre and try to circle around it with the Falcon, turret to the sides. Wedge is like the Queen in chess, don’t joust (charge forward) with him straight ahead. The Escort is more like a pawn, use it like that. Lando can hand out extra actions after a blue maneuver. Remember that with the wings closed an X wing can do a focus, linked to a red boost. When Wedge has a blue maneuver dialed in, Lando can give him up to three actions. Magva Yarro gives Lando a Target lock after he got hit, so use this as often as possible.

I would suggest something like this:

New Squadron

(55) Wedge Antilles [T-65 X-wing]
(0) Servomotor S-foils
Points: 55

(62) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing]
(0) Servomotor S-foils
Points: 62

(80) Lando Calrissian [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter]
Points: 80

Total points: 197

essentially you just orbit with lando throwing an action to either Luke or wedge or if need be focus target lock with lando. Being able to pass a boost into a focus then clear and target lock with either of the x-wings is really solid. The list is simple in that there’s no crazy card combos to keep track of, allowing you to focus on your maneuvers but still having solid damage output. Hope this helps :)

This is great :) Thanks @battlestarbill

Any suggestions of a list with B-wing aswell? Maybe drop one x-wing and replace it with a B-wing?

No worries :)

New Squadron

(55) Wedge Antilles [T-65 X-wing]
(0) Servomotor S-foils
Points: 55

(62) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing]
(0) Servomotor S-foils
Points: 62

(51) Braylen Stramm [A/SF-01 B-wing]
Points: 51

(32) AP-5 [Sheathipede-class Shuttle]
Points: 32

Total points: 200

if you can get hold of a sheathipede shuttle I would recommend this. Nothing fancy just 3 double modded shots per round. Plus ap5 can do some fun things coordinating actions to a stressed ship :)

I do not have the shuttle nor the conversion kits, yet. But Ill find something that could replace it for the list I guess :)

BasicRebels

(51) Braylen Stramm [A/SF-01 B-wing]
Points: 51

(40) "Dutch" Vander [BTL-A4 Y-wing]
Points: 40

(55) Wedge Antilles [T-65 X-wing]
(0) Servomotor S-foils
Points: 55

(51) Cassian Andor [UT-60D U-wing]
(0) Pivot Wing
Points: 51

Total points: 197

If you have a B-Wing.  Or for less of a bid but adding an ion cannon to Dutch

BasicRebels

(48) Ten Numb [A/SF-01 B-wing]
Points: 48

(40) "Dutch" Vander [BTL-A4 Y-wing]
(5) Ion Cannon Turret
Points: 45

(55) Wedge Antilles [T-65 X-wing]
(0) Servomotor S-foils
Points: 55

(51) Cassian Andor [UT-60D U-wing]
(0) Pivot Wing
Points: 51

Total points: 199

You could go further like dropping Ten and adding a Blue Squadron B Wing instead and get Veteran Turret Gunner for Dutch.  Or put some torpedoes on Wedge.  Or give Cassian Leia Organa.

I just saw that you don’t have the conversion kit (you can get one for a decent discount at B & N right now though), so replace Cassian with either Saw or Bodhi...

Keep flying the X-Wings and Y-Wing. If you think you have a good grasp of ship handling and list building then go with the U-Wing. My mistake is buying ships before I had a handle on fundamentals. The YT-1300 may complicate things and cause trouble. The next ship you may want to try is the B-Wing. I have put away many ships including all of my large-base ships because they caused more trouble than they are worth right now.

That is a really good tip. I have played for 2 months now, so I'm far from great at ship handling, but after 4-5 runs with Falcon the last week I feel I get more and more control over it. Its a lot easier to fly more small ship, but falcon is fun :)

I tried Lando (Nien, Leia), Wedge (R2, Predator) and Partisan Renegade (u-wing) with cargo yesterday. That was super cool! Although I need some more practise with the list.
