Grievous! (Also reveals from FFG Live)

Though it would be funny if you could get Grievous to run off the table from panic.😂😳

It would be accurate to the movies + clone wars. It’s probably a good thing that they aren’t using the Grievous from the 2003 show. That Grievous would stomp everyone

Ok, so Grievous doesn’t have deflect, but he has block. I’m thinking one of his command cards gives him deflection for spinning his sabers around. He also doesn’t have immune pierce, but he does have impervious.

he deals 2 damage average per lightsaber attack (4 if he attacks the same target with both) with pierce 1 and impacts 1 on each. You can expect both hits to go through against white defense and at least 1 against red defense. Against jedi he deals 2.5 per lightsaber attack but pierce doesn’t come into effect.

He doesn't have arsenal or gunslinger how can he attack multiple times or with multiple weapons?

I was hoping for something like 1 blaster and 4 lightsabers. He would start with arsenal 2 but could spend an action to gain an additional arsenal 2. This is great but cheaper than expected

I would imagine his strong attack (1-pip) card does something like the saber whirl with four attacks.

It would just be two attacks (Arsenal 2 on each), which is essentially the same thing as Son of Skywalker, or Implacable)

As fitting as it would be, I'd rather not see another card like that. I prefer more uniqueness in cards to help give each character their own flavor.

Sone of Skywalker does 12 dice total. Grievous would do 16. Very broken.

A good chunk of those are white dice though. Also we have no idea what the one pip does yet so no point in calling it broken yet :P

I think you'd just word it where he reduces his total dice in some way. If it's representative of the whirling sabers, he isn't trying to be precise, but just flailing. Obi-Wan easily stopped it. Reducing the dice pool for that attack at still makes it similar to SOS, but not OP, and maybe it gains Suppressive or something, to represent the terrifying effect of it against non-Jedi.

It might also just do the attack to anything within range 1 or something like that; weaker unless it scales up from targets.

SOS is 2 back to back attacks (8 dice or 12 dice); Implacable is two attacks effectively with an extra action not back to back; so it can also use force cards twice (ie Force Choke two heavies in one turn for 12 dice + chokeouts)

Coordinated bombardment is 6 dice + Leia’s 3 from that attack; with supporting fire from Medium Blasters that’s potentially 21 dice.

With the two separate lightsabers and arsenal 2 he can engage two separate units in melee. That's gonna be much handier when Jedi become more prevalent in later waves.

Per the rules he cannot go and engage 2 different units in melee, he has to be engaged at least by the second

Sure he can. Engagement doesn't say you can't be engaged with more than one trooper unit, if they are close enough to be in base contact with each one.

EDIT: my bad. "You cannot move a unit such that it would be in base contact with multiple enemy units–effectively starting a melee."

So in you first sentence you add more speculation on a speculative theory of Grievous’s 1 pip, but in your second sentence, you tell me to stop speculating.

You’re funny.😂🤪🥴

Adding 4 white dice to the most powerful attack in the game, would be broken, and would be power creep, which I guarantee someone would complain about. “Why is Grievous more powerful then Luke now” “Vader just sucks” etc, etc, etc.

And that’s on a unit(s) that have white defense dice. The designers do try to make things balanced.

But I do agree with you that it would be cool to have Grievous’s whirling blades in the Command cards. But we never actually see Grievous’s whirling blade attack do damage, so what if in the Command cards it did something like block attacks for the round or something different. When Obi attacks Grievous in the movie, it only takes a straight attack to stop Grievous from twirling. Personally I wanted to see Grievous with 4 sabers, but that would be broken too. Also look at Grievous’s lightsabers, he only has 4 dice from each. Luke, Vader and Obi have 6 each, but they’re Force users. Sabine has 5, so why does Grievous only have 4? It’s only for balance. Two saber attacks are nasty, but 4 is just over the top. Also don’t forget it would be Impact 4 and Pierce 4 as well as 16 dice after he takes an aim and a move.

Jedi hunter match great with vader... at the end he is the beign that killed the most jedi (and sure he need that things to be competitive against other saber heroes)

I expect a unique upgrade coming to him near future, cause luke, obi and grievous are much playable than him even naked

@JediPartisan

I was talking about his regular attack, which throws 4 white dice on top of 2 black 2 red, which will make it a lot more unreliable than SoS...I was referring to his main attack, not potential one pip cards

Isn't Grievous attacks compose of 2 red 4 black and 2 white ?
