Resistance Transport List

I have been racking my brain on how to employ a list with a Resistance Transport and here is one I came up with:

I bit the bullet and put Leia on the transport to help manage stress with the rest of the list. R2 is on the transport to, hopefully, keep it in the fight as long as possible since it would have a big target painted on it. Multiple RZ2 A-Wings were considered at first but I went with just Greer to be a flanker because I feel A-Wings alone would not help defend the transport. Therefore, I went with Ello and a Red Squadron Expert to provide some X-Wing beef to the list. Leia's stress relief and coordination abilities should help the other three ships be effective as long as the transport can stay in the fight for a long time. I would be interested in other ideas of using the Resistance Transport.

Your firepower seems lacking, bunch of single mod ships. Two of those are two dice ships.

And Ello doesnt need leia, neither does greer, so you are spending 19pts on a generic.

Look at some of these:

Nodin Chavdri (36)
Autoblasters (2)
Korr Sella (6)
R4 Astromech (2)
Total: 46

Nodin can coordinate (helping your squad efficiency go up) and focus for himself, get 2 stress. And then do a blue and remove all stress.

 

The generic with m9g8 droid is a cheap droid carrier to help a ship have rerolls as well.

 

Holdo + perceptive copilot and r4 astro can transfer a focus to a friendly and receive stress ( like from poe), or even take a lock off poe to help him survive.

Slight alteration to this would be an R2 instead on a R4. You can use the R2’s ability for the extra shields then when you engage use Holdo to pass off the disarm token to a ship that has already fired in the round.

Has anyone given thought to how many of the transports would be useful to have? My initial thought was just one but now I think having two would be useful. Maybe not to fly but for the extra upgrades?

That’s why those card packs need to come out. Heard buying ships for upgrades was one of the 1.0 problems. Then again, I never played 1.0.

57pts on the transport might be a bit much though! If the opponent kills Rey and Bastian first that thing is not much of an end game ship.

Cova+Leia is a solid beefy ship that can toss support as needed. That reverse and hard stop make it surprisingly squirrelly.

Greer over Tali for the extra maneuverability. That free rotate gives her a lot more time on target.

Mr Big deal has performed well above his points. Definitely a filler piece in the league of Wampa and Blount. Can punch harder or survive longer than his stats suggest. He deserves further exploration.

It was indeed a problem. One of the cards that made the 1.0 TIE Advanced truly shine, for example, could only be found in the Imperial Raider expansion, which at the time was close to 100 bucks; having to buy ships from other factions just for their cards was even worse, in its way. It's nothing I ever did. I too hope that the card packs come out soon.

You're probably going to have to start small with the transport because it's...kinda trash

For 42 points, I think the generic can justify its i2 bwing/arc level cost. What it lacks in straight jousts, it makes up by essentially handing out a free mod at minimal cost (since it compensated itself with c3po's calc). ****, it can even double calc in a pinch.

The simplest things are often the most effective

 

So that's probably it, though I'm REALLY trying to get Holdo in there somewhere. She's fascinating but SO EXPENSIVE

I'd always take heroic over marksmanship without fail. Too good, especially on the transport which rolls very few dice (plus Chewie gives crits)

But also in general. I don't think autoblasters are particularly good enough to replace a 3-die primary as much as simply making a 2-die less useless. 

Also, just noticed poor Cova gets SUPER expensive. I'd ideally like PA (ability synergy) with miss blue manuever (if you wanna do any action other than focus) but now that's 61 flubbing points. No bueno

I've tried Nodin a few times, both with Leia and Korr.  It was okay.  I'm starting to think that a beefier Cova might be the way to go, but I haven't put this on the table yet.

Still really pricey

Edit: right, Holdo doesn't work if you're already stressed. Kaderp. Switch to generic and swap korr to tact officer I guess 

Upgrade lintra to lulo

Flew this today. Its good. Makes aces shiver in fear since Nodin rolls 3 hits with ion cannon 80% of the time.

Ion'd Vader, got him. Dead vader. Nodin is incredible, dishing out coordinate every round while punishing anyone in arc. Expensive Nodin at 59pts, but you gotta go through three very hard hitters and an ion cannon to get her. Vader, Dutchess, and Vermeil tried to get her, and Vader paid the price.

Nodin is a suport beast. (Nice sinergy with Bastian). Vi Moradi is also quite disruptive. Autoblaster + Marksmanship is good on Nien but i think it would be painfully on Poe

This is my variation on the 4 T-70s making the rounds right now. Keep the transport's role as a simple coordinator with an element of control for added punch.

A really nice list. 3PO and G8 are a great combination, since you've basically got the ability to run away whilst continuously throwing free actions at Han. provided you get in range for G8 to lock him in the first place, the transport can then just leg it the other way all game.

 

I do like the idea of SUDDENLY POE.

I feel like if you're going to do that you should probably try and throw as much into that strike as possible, though; since (in theory) you've got him set up for a 'perfect' strafing run, giving him something like Outmaneuver/Advanced Proton Torpedoes might give you more of a "Look out for that X-wing!" "What X-wing?" Booooom!!!!!  potential. If you're more cash strapped for points, at the very least give him a heavy laser cannon. You'd probably need to drop the transport to achieve this, though - or at least downgrade it to a pod and lose M9-G8.

A well equipped Han and SUDDENLY POE gives you two ships who don't give a monkeys about normal deployment rules and are both I6. There has to be a decent squad in there somewhere.

Thinking about the droidmobile support transport; you could try pairing them with a resistance bomber configured for maximum forward dakka.

Pattern Analyser plus M9-G8 plus co-ordinate means the bomber should have focus/calculate/rerolls at all times, and Jaycris lets it clear stress with ease since it effectively has his 'improved' blue dial, meaning it can alternate between speed 1 and speed 2 turns indefinitely. Meanwhile, anything caught in the bomber's forward arc is in for a seriously rough time of it between two well-modified primary attacks and launched bombs.
