Bringing Miranda Back

Recommended Posts

Hello internet,

Since my Hyperspace Trial season is done until August and I have no need to play hyperspace lists until the points drop, I've decided to try and bring Miranda Doni back!

Here's what I've got so far, it evolved from an earlier Miranda Hera list I was flying, I figured an extra ship would be greatly beneficial.

I've left it with a little bid for now because I'm expecting Wedge to go up in points slightly.

If you guys have any Miranda lists you're flying, feel feel to share it below, I'm always looking for inspiration. Thanks!

Only got one game in with it, but I've heard other folks do well with Hotshot Gunner and Bomblet Generator.  HSG is good, because it doesn't care how many dice Miranda is throwing: it'll always deprive someone of a Focus.  Bomblet Generator is there due to the realization that Miranda can probably more easily give up a shield to reload, rather than give up both an action and an attack.  Since her regain-shields ability doesn't work unless she's without shields, Bomblet spending them isn't too bad.

The ships I want to pair her with probably aren't optimal (named B-Wings seem like they'd be solid), but would be fun: E-Wings with R2 Astromech.  That'll be three ships which have some amount of regen, and some capacity to run away fast.  I've kept tinkering with it and never actually flying with it, but something which might be cool:

  • Rogue Squadron Escort (Trick Shot, Fire Control System, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, R2 Astromech) 70
  • Rogue Squadron Escort (Trick Shot, Fire Control System, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, R2 Astromech) 70
  • Miranda Doni (Hotshot Gunner, Sabine Wren, Bomblet Generator) 60

Opening volley is a Range 3 chip shot with FCS to preserve the Lock, saving any green tokens for defense.  Next round is Advanced Proton Torpedoes with Focus/Lock.  Always against a focus-less target, due to Hotshot Gunner.  This is followed by running away very fast with regen and reacquiring the locks.

But I suppose this is more of a misguided effort to bring E-Wings back, than to bring Miranda back.  And to that end, I keep thinking I want full Proton Torpedoes, plus Elusive, plus Jake Farrell.

I toyed with something similar, but using Esege as a focus battery...

(54) Knave Squadron Escort [E-wing]
(3) R3 Astromech
(2) Fire-Control System
(12) Proton Torpedoes
Points: 71
