Beginner help

So I have quite a few nectar points on ebay uk and I bought the starter set. Also bought the Kylo Ren and Rey starters too (boxes were damaged and only £2.50 each.

Question are the dice and cards from Rey and Ren boxes the same as what I will get in the 2 player starter

No, they are different versions of Rey and Kylo. Outside maybe Flank, I cannot think of any cards that overlap between the original starters and the 2-player set.

If you look on the die itself, usually the one side that has the blank, it will have a number and symbol of the set it belongs to.  It has been a long time so i cant tell you what might cross over between the two.  If you are looking at any type of competitive play then you need to remember the rotation set up.  The black boxed Rey and Ren sets are usable in infinite play play only.  The two player set is good for standard and infinite play.  Welcome to the destiny CCG.  enjoy.

Intimidate was in both the two player game and kylo starter set. All the other cards that weren't mentioned by others who commented here are different.

Also, I suggest buying 2 two of the two player game just so you have more elite characters.

They both have different contents except for one or two cards, but I recommend buying the two player set as it is more "up to date".

Aren't the 2 player starter sets identical inside, if so wont the characters be the same or is it the extra die that are useful 

I always get confused when there is mention of purchasing 2 starter sets

They are identical, but you only get one copy of each card and die. You'll want the second copies of the character dice to play them elite. Also, several of the other cards are worth having second copies, just so you can include two of that card in a deck.

single die: okay, cheaper price (when deck-building)

Two dice (also called elite): better, more expensive (when deck-building)

 

Very useful cards and feel like you need it very much: 2 copies

Okay cards: 1-2 copies

Not really good cards: trade them with others who need it or just keep them as your collection.

The reason for having two copies of a card in your deck :

1. That you are more likely to draw the card and be able to play it

2. Just in case your opponent discards that card but you still want to play it

3. So you can use it twice
