Green Raven 6 Posted April 28, 2019 When do sets rotate out of play?
Kyoden Kurosora 15 Posted April 28, 2019 Hasn't happened yet so don't know what the rotation schedule is going to be.
Khudzlin 734 Posted April 28, 2019 For previous competitive LCGs, rotation was scheduled to hit once the 8th cycle starts being published (removing the oldest 2). Netrunner hit rotation before being stopped, but no other game did.
Green Raven 6 Posted April 28, 2019 8 Cycles... So have we only gotten 2? Imperial and Elemental? Do the Clan Pack counts? Children of the Empire?
Hinomura 848 Posted April 29, 2019 https://imperialadvisor.com/2017/09/28/future-l5r-releases-and-tournaments/ An older but excellent article from the fantastic Imperial Advisor crew.

Deluxe boxes were legal indefinitely in other games. Children of the Empire will certainly be as well, and Clan Packs probably.
Mirith 1,304 Posted April 29, 2019 I don't know that they have officially announced the rotation plan yet though. I think they've been intentionally silent on the fact so they don't get stuck in any particular situation.
dbmeboy 807 Posted April 29, 2019 Also worth noting that FFG OP has seen significant turnover since that was originally posted. No idea if that still represents their rotation plans.

Netrunner hit rotation before being stopped, but no other game did. Also, they took the chance to re-do the Core Set. Some of the more problematic cards were taken from the CS and a few select ones from the first 2 cycles were added-in. Overall, people were happy with it. Sadly Netrunner license wasn't renewed, so it was moot. Will they take the same approach with L5R? It would make sense at some point to take the opportunity to clean house both for balance and for storyline reasons. For the first, looking at the restricted list would be a good indication; for the second removing dead characters would make sense.
