Speed 5 B-wings?

Well, I thought I’d put them into a good position with speed 5 and then activate them with Bail beginning of the next. They can go speed 3 and attack - 6 b-wings should put a hole in most things.

I did not realise it was in the FAQ. Thanks!

The real issue is making sure you can get a HWK / Jan into position during the Squadron phase so your B-Wings don't get locked down. I guess you could do the MC 80 CC, and use Independence on only the Intel squad+AFFM after the B-Wings are in position, and use the normal B-Wing movement/attack.

Don't foreget that d1 is a bitt longer, so it's more than 6.

Plus, FCT from multiple ships "stack", so those B-wings could go really far :D

There was a distinct reason why I was taking Independence with my B-Wings rather than FC/FCTing them a whole bunch, and basically, it came down to *jumping*.

With Independence its a single range 4 movement, rather than 2 range 2 movements...  This is important when you're trying to go directly from the Front of Something to the Back of Something, or Leapfrog something to get to something else...  Even if its your Own ship... 

 

Oh, The number of itmes I wanted to FCT something but it was already abutting the edge of the large ship and couldn't make the leap over made the FCT move kind of pointless...  

 

But that's generally why I still keep Independence around for myself - the single reposition can be very powerful, and moreso than a lot of little moves added up in certain circumstances.
