I have only 3 :( But I can borrow 4th. I played some games with 3-4 Bulbulbuls. I think you really need Probe Droid carrier, it is better than Kraken. 404 or Techno Union Hyena with or without Plasma and Struts for example. I will try FOA, 36 points is a good price. I was playing Shokoan Aces mostly. Grievous is also cheap. I don't know if Impervium is worth 4 points or Treacherous 2 points.

I endeavour using DBS-404 + Cluster Missiles + Afterburners. 41p for possible 8 red dice! You'll take 2 crits, though - nothing beats it in its YOLO-ness

Or Adv. Proton Torpedoes for a fancy 6-die in your face!; 42p. Just for comparison, Fenn Rau can do that as well, but he'd cost 74p.

There may be some play with Hyenas carrying Plasma Torps mixed into an ESC swarm. Use the plasmas to punch through shields and let the ESCs generate crits. Probe Droids off of cheap hyenas will help that alpha strike look really nice.

32C w/ Kraken, Techno w/ Plasma & Drk Probes, Techno w/ Plasma, & 3 Feds w/ ESC = 199 pts. Put struts on 32C or one of the Technos if you like.

more dice thrown in one shot (and, generally, more $$$ the ship) means more mods required

that's what 32c is for, of course, but if it turns out to be too expensive as fear then the butterbot's stock is gonna rise

I myself plan to use both, at least at first

I plan on doing that as well. First wave clears shields, second wave clears ships 😈

That would combo even better with the Focus > Crit ability of ESC

problem with plasma 'yenas is low initiative target locks...everybody's best friend

passive sensors, the promised salvation, were sadly denied our torp carrying bots

 

it's basically why 32-c is actually any good. While engagement phase coordinate IS (or can be) huge, it's not as significant as being able to guarantee target-locks from ordnance carriers

Are they? In my first 2 games with Probes last week I had no problem to TL second turn with my ships. First you move carrier, then you drop/launch Probe with speed 3 template, then you move Probe with speed 2 bank/straight and then you need to be at range 3 of enemy ship with your Probe. It is not that hard.

How does something like this look? I realise it's all very low PS, but I'm struggling to find a good way of running Maul and think Dooku might have some real game. Assuming I can choose order of Informant / Decloak. 

Room for more upgrades in there, or a change to discords.

Like a worse version of Vader/Soontir/2xBomber. I would get rid of either Impervium or Outmaneuver and take ESCs on the Hyenas so they can do more than just distract your opponent. Perhaps you can launch buzz droids soon and block one lane your opponent might go for. Seems to me that this type of list waits for true ace like Sun Fac (instead of Dooku imho).

Speaking of Tubs, I'm having a hard time justifying them without 32-c. I doubt they're gonna end up being more efficient ESC carriers than Vultures, and low initiative targetlocks just suck.

We got the idea of probe droids, but I have no clue how those function and how feasible they actually are.

 

So...how about running Tubs as just fat TIE fighters?

They don't compare SUPER favorably to the Torrent (-1 initiative, +1 point; calculate), but maybe? The dial's a lot better buggers can't 3-bank, it's a wash.

Probably going to be let down by an ultimate lack of Sinker, though...and 7 points for only 2 hull over a vulture; losing linked roll --> calc...yeah, not the best idea

 

So far, only thing I can imagine is either probes or using one to ferry Plasmas in conjunction with 32-c. But I can also use 404 for that role.

You can have only one 404, though. 2 Hyenas with plasma torpedoes will clear most ships' shields, enabling the ESCs coming later to fitfully use their Focus > Crit ability.

 

The Probes are interesting because they allow your ships to get a lock even if they're farther than R3. In a sense, they're 'Passive Sensors'.

Also, in regards to hate tripling in cost, idk if it's honestly THAT terrible. Just means we can't two Sith as easily.

Well I think I’ve got my first Wave IV list figured out (wait I probably can’t afford 3 Hyenas right away... crap.)

Both Baktoids, a Tub with Probe Droids, Butterbot—all with ESCs—and 3 TFD’s with Discords.

Keeps to my all-i1 all-DroidShip preferences, still has 7 ships. Baktoids are there for easier double mods, as are the probe droids. The rest isbasically half of my ocho list (but with more Discords. Could bump one up to an ESC to reach 200, I think.

 

But now that I’m posting this, I’m reminded that I really want to try Plasma torps...

3 Tubs with PlasTorps, Butter & 2 TFDs with ESCs, and 2 more TFDs with Discords? Maybe that one first, though then it’s tempting to play with Passive Sensors, and.... yeah idk.
