Really it is an Ace list designed to try and best take advantage of each ship's ability. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Greedo_Sharpshooter 860 Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) My first thoughts are... too many upgrades. some suggestions... Guri on her own at 63pts is perhaps stronger choice than BSA loaded to 75pts. Id maybe add Predator or FCS to her as a minimum. so 65pts all up. Im torn by ur choice of Drea here. I think either a Hired Gun or even a scurrg bomber would be better. For 72pts you can get Nym with a decent load out of bombs (proton, seismic), Havoc title and Dorsal Turret. This still gives you an ace and way to punish ships that get in behind you (maybe fly Kavil and Nym together) Kavil is looking good as is although my thinking is the hotshot gunner is a little pricey at 7pts. 12pts for Protons on him could be Really good. just a bit expensive but lets see what we can come up with here... Greedo_Sharpshooter 860 Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) but wait, theres more... This next squad makes pretty good use of Drea's rerolls for generic ships plus squad leader lets you coordinate an action eg. focus, TL or barrel roll to a friendly ship which is actually really good because u can always coordinate the ship in the best position. Giving a star viper a free focus when it has TL is nice. Its fragile tho. u will need to really get in lots or reps with those initiative 1 star vipers to get the most use out of them. I lile the star viper as ship but I'm more of a fang fighter player myself, both perform similar roles in a list, star vipers are slippery in close but do not have Concordia dawn to bail them out like the fangs do. Still id imagine u could get really good at flying a list like this if you were prepared to put in the practice. Starvipers are still under the radar and u don't see the generic ones about much. Even more reason to put them on the table because ppl r not going to be ready for them! This squad is closer to what I myself would play. SQUAD#4 Drea Renthal (42) Expert Handling (2) Dorsal Turret (2) Veteran Turret Gunner (6) Hull Upgrade (3) Ship total: 55 Hired Gun (33) Squad Leader (6) Dorsal Turret (2) Veteran Turret Gunner (6) R4 Astromech (2) Ship total: 49 Black Sun Enforcer (46) Fire-Control System (2) Ship total: 48 Black Sun Enforcer (46) Fire-Control System (2) Ship total: 48 Total: 200 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Scum and Villainy&d=v6!s=200!86:120,137,,90,,,,164:;87:131,137,,90,5,,,:;151:113,,,:;151:113,,,:&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs= Edited April 2, 2019 by Da_Brown_Bomber 4 Greebwahn, darkflop, Seraphimtoaster375 and 1 other reacted to this
darkflop 76 Posted April 2, 2019 That squad #4 looks like a lot of fun! I'm not sure about the FCS though, while that would allow in theory for 2 dice rerolls - at that init it's tricky to get the right lock. They might also struggle to get out of arc of the many other I2 generics around if they move first. How about dropping a few upgrades to bump the SVs to Assassins? Something like that: Drea Renthal (42)Expert Handling (2)Dorsal Turret (2)Veteran Turret Gunner (6) Hired Gun (33)Squad Leader (6)Dorsal Turret (2)Veteran Turret Gunner (6)R4 Astromech (2) Black Sun Assassin (48)Crack Shot (1) Black Sun Assassin (48)Crack Shot (1)Total: 199 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0 Drea's tools can be changed according to your playstyle: Expert Handling/R4/Hull Upgrade - or an Ion Turret on the Hired Gun instead 1 Nohwear reacted to this

Mines are a different subtype of Device now. It's 2 points on your Drea build that doesn't do anything which you could replace with a dorsal turret to expand the area that Drea's ability affects. Greedo_Sharpshooter 860 Posted April 3, 2019 tweeking this squad to include an ion cannon.. Seraphimtoaster375 151 Posted April 3, 2019 My take: StarViper-class Attack Platform - •Guri - 81 •Guri - Prince Xizor’s Bodyguard (63) Predator (2) Advanced Sensors (10) Afterburners (6) BTL-A4 Y-wing - Hired Gun - 56 Hired Gun - (33) Expert Handling (2) Proton Torpedoes (12) •“Genius” (2) Proximity Mines (6) Munitions Failsafe (1) BTL-A4 Y-wing - •Kavil - 59 •Kavil - Callous Corsair (43) Expert Handling (2) Dorsal Turret (2) R4 Astromech (2) Shield Upgrade (4) Veteran Turret Gunner (6) Total: 196/200 View in the X-Wing Squad Builder Drea's ability is really good when you have multiple generics that can take advantage in a turn and while that starviper will get a lot of use out of it, you're better off using it to get a bunch of re-rolls instead of just 1. So I swapped Drea out for an otherwise identical hired gun. Guri is insane, advanced sensors and after burners basically lets you put her wherever you want. It takes some practice but its totally worth it. I gave her predator to save points, but outmaneuver will be easier to proc and definitely fits. Bit of a worry about turrets, but that's what the y wings are for, she should never be in an opponents primary arc unless you they are close to death and you are positive you can push through the damage you need to finish it. Gave Kavil a Veteran Turret Gunner for the double tap, and since he still gets the onus die from his ability if you fire the dorsal in his primary arc, that's a 2 and 3 die attack every turn, 3 and 4 if you get into range 1. Just my thoughts 1 Nohwear reacted to this
