CIS first draft

Recommended Posts

My first idea for a CIS list. Maybe this will inspire other people and together we can find out what's good in there!

Sith Infiltrator - •Count Dooku - 68
    •Count Dooku - Darth Tyranus (61)
        •Scimitar (4)
        Heightened Perception (3)

Vulture-class Droid Fighter - •••Precise Hunter - 33
    •••Precise Hunter - Pinpoint Protocols (26)
        Energy-Shell Charges (4)
        Grappling Struts (Closed) (3)

Vulture-class Droid Fighter - •••Precise Hunter - 33
    •••Precise Hunter - Pinpoint Protocols (26)
        Energy-Shell Charges (4)
        Grappling Struts (Closed) (3)

Belbullab-22 Starfighter - •Wat Tambor - 66
    •Wat Tambor - Techno Union Foreman (43)
        Treacherous (3)
        •Soulless One (10)
        •Kraken (10)

Total: 200/200

For 7 points, Dooku can shoot at I7 and immediately cloak. For a large ship with force, focus and 10 health, this is really solid in my opinion. He's going to need a lot of space though to be able to decloak and move each turn, so it's probably better to leave him by himself on the side of the board with asteroids at range 3 so he can make the most out of his movement. He'll probably need to disengage and come back often.

On the other hand, the 3 other ships act as a single unit. First turn, they all calculate, and then keep that calculate with Kraken. This let Wat fuel his own ability by himself if needs be. As Kraken is really important here, the Souless one title is there to keep him alive just a bit more. Then they can enter the battle with a total of 5 calculate token between them and a focus for Wat. They're still all pretty squishy so they probably won't want to straight up joust. Mainly I think they'll thrive in asteroid field where the vulture can more easily turn around and make use of grappling.

What do you think? Is there too few ships for a CIS list? Should I just put as many TF Drone with energy shell as possible?

Dang, Heightened Perception is an amazing card for Dooku. Hadn’t noticed that.

Personally I’m enjoying showing as many Vultures as possible in with one non-Vulture, but it’ll take some experience to really figure out what’s best for them.

I really like what you've done, but I also like the idea of a third vulture. If you cut a few things back you can do this:

Belbullab-22 Starfighter - •Wat Tambor - 54
    •Wat Tambor - Techno Union Foreman (43)
        Crack Shot (1)
        •Kraken (10)

Sith Infiltrator - •Count Dooku - 68
    •Count Dooku - Darth Tyranus (61)
        Jamming Beam (0)
        •Scimitar (4)
        Heightened Perception (3)

Vulture-class Droid Fighter - Separatist Drone - 26
    Separatist Drone - (22)
        Energy-Shell Charges (4)

Vulture-class Droid Fighter - Separatist Drone - 26
    Separatist Drone - (22)
        Energy-Shell Charges (4)

Vulture-class Droid Fighter - Separatist Drone - 26
    Separatist Drone - (22)
        Energy-Shell Charges (4)

Total: 200/200

The ESC Drones could be swapped for Precise Hunters if you prefer, but I think that ESCs are a bargain right now.

Well.... having tried my earlier list, I can say that you were right! Vulture die really fast! With only 2 vultures, there's a good enough chance that they won't even get to shoot, and then Wat and Dooku are not nearly enough to close a game. Since I own just a servant of Strife, and one sith infiltrator, it was all I could play this week, but I really liked the feel of the vultures and I'm planning on getting more. I think something better would be like this :

Count Dooku (61)
    Heightened Perception (3)
    Proton Torpedoes (12)
    General Grievous (3)
    Scimitar (4)

Ship total: 83  Half Points: 42  Threshold: 5

Separatist Drone (22)
    Energy-Shell Charges (4)
    Grappling Struts (3)

Ship total: 29  Half Points: 15  Threshold: 2

Separatist Drone (22)
    Energy-Shell Charges (4)
    Grappling Struts (3)

Ship total: 29  Half Points: 15  Threshold: 2

Separatist Drone (22)
    Energy-Shell Charges (4)
    Grappling Struts (3)

Ship total: 29  Half Points: 15  Threshold: 2

Separatist Drone (22)
    Energy-Shell Charges (4)
    Grappling Struts (3)

Ship total: 29  Half Points: 15  Threshold: 2

Total: 199

Upgrading the TFD to a Separatist drone left me with an fair amount of point so I could give them all grappling struts. Having played a little with them, they feel really cool, not particularly strong, but you can do some interesting things with them like ignoring rocks you shoot trough while being a tie-fighter on defense. The PS3 I feel is way more value than an extra PS1 vulture (without the grappling struts on everyone) because at PS3, you can still block other aces, while being able to Out-ps most swarm, or at least trade evenly with them. And at the least all your ships move at the same time.

The game plan I think would be like this : against lower PS swarm, hide in the rocks, try to PS kill with energy shell spam. Against higher PS list, body block with vulture and set up kill box, then use dooku with proton torp to hopefully cripple one ace so he won't deal too much damage to the vultures.
