Lieutenant and agent

Recommended Posts

Dear community,

We're playing descent for a while but we never actually got to know the status of lieutenant or agent monsters.

We tread them as elite monsters. Is this correct?

I ask because some plot cards or OL cards seem to be quite strong with them as 'ordinary' monsters.

Monster is a generic word for all the figures of the Overlord, but they are divided as below :

- minor monsters (basic monsters, servants)
- master monsters (special monsters, agents)
- Lieutenant
(monsters with attributes)

"Elite" monster type does not exist.

Agents are special monsters treated as master monsters from the group they are added to. Lieutenants are some sort of "special" monster that have attribute and can wield relics. All that target a monster can target any monster, all that target only master monsters can only be on agents or master monsters, and all that target only lieutenant can only affect them.

Thank you. So a lieutenant is no master. That clears it up. 🙂

I called the master minions elite because it's their name in the German version. I didn't recognize it was different in English as master would have been translated into 'Meister' in German. And that mistake was made although I have read English descriptions with master minions in the text. 🙄

And agent are masters monsters.

But yes, lieutenants are no master monsters.

(in french, they also use strange translation, master became "majeur", something like "major" or "most" instead of "maitre")
