Hyperspace Falcon

My local shop is having a hyperspace tournament this week instead of an extended tournament. I was thinking of flying rebels. I only have 2 x wings, a Y wing and the falcon. Would this be a good list to fly? I think it looks fun and there is a lot of sharing actions and tokens. My thought is lando can give Dutch a free lock so dutch can give garven a lock as well.

With those ships, I suggest this:

Luke

Lando (Nien)

Dutch (ICT)

 

Luke has easy double mods on attack and is respectably tanky, Dutch takes a lock and gives Lando a lock, Lando gives Dutch a focus and takes a focus.

Leaves 10 points. Bid perhaps, but also maybe VTG? Some Selflesses?

I like it, but I actually don't have a luke card... never got a 2.0 core set. Just a conversion kit. But I wish I had him for this build

I am taking a hard look at:

Han Solo: R2-D2/Lando

Dutch: ICT/VTG

Garven: ProTorps/S-Foils

200/200

It's been decent in practice. Obviously the reliance on an i4 Target Lock and hoping Garven rolls an eyeball with his ProTorps tempts fate a bit, but it's been fun!

Why afterburner? Can't Lando give wedge a boost before he moves and then wedge can open his wings?

Han's pretty tanky and I like him better as an end-game piece. His rerolls are strong.

And with double-modded ProTorps/Double-Tap Y-wing on the field as well, I've found Han gets a few clean rounds before he gets shot at...and then he's tough to chew through before time runs out.

1) I like to use Wedge as a flanking menace. Sometimes i need to use the afterburner's charges to get free boost and a modifier cause Lando is in the Melee trying to block aces.

2) Lando activation goes before the Wedge's s-foils position choice, so if you want to use the boost yo have to close s-foils in the previous turn.

No, there're fixed in position until Wedge activates, at which point he can flip the card. Then they're fixed until next turn, when Wedge activates next.

So I could start wedge with the foils closed, have Lando boost him into the fray, and then on his activation he could open his foils. Here is the new team I am thinking of

One trick I like to use with afterburners is when I think I’m gonna get trapped and blocked by multiple ships I dial the weirdest move possible that’s speed 3 or higher, even if it goes through a rock or ends up on it. You can still use afterburners if the boost template doesn’t go through the rock, and get away from there. I used it with Wedge ro try to avoid 3 x wings and 2 Ion Y wings. He definately wasn’t expecting that move, and I got away safe. I even got lucky not rolling a hit/crit for the rock damage and as I wasn’t going to shoot, I was able to recover a shield with r2. Now that it only costs 6p, it’s even better.

Another suggestion, I have been running Wedge with only proton torps (as long as there is a semblance of a support ship that helps action economy) and its been great. Very powerful and if you loose Wedge its not instant game over since you didn't dump points. Also allows you to max out your bids to if that is your preference, but here is my take.

Lando for them sweet actions Wedge as the sword and Y-wing as the shield:

I flew this list last night, it did quite well. Lando can focus evade in 1 action using perceprive copilot and Jyn to make him more durable, and gives his second action where needed. Bentic can give his focus to wedge, who then can use his action for target lock or repositioning. Or focus which can be turned into an evade.

Thank you guys for the input. Here is what I am thinking about flying this weekend. I appreciate the help and I think wedge is a good idea. I liked Dutch but Norra is so much more survivable.

I've been running something really close to this, but with Han+Leia instead of Lando, drop crack and drop R2-D2 to R2 on Wedge, and add Proton Bombs and R4 to Norra.  I'm concerned about big swarms of stuff, and the threat of Norra turning around inside a group, throwing out bombs, and double tapping feels like it will force different decisions out of 5-8 ship lists (if I can get her close...).  I haven't run R2 on Wedge, but I like him in and out of the fight.  I had predator on him, but R2 seems like a better call if the points are there.

I wouldn't. Used it recently, would've cause twice much damage to my own ship compared to enemy should I actually drop it.

If you don't care about keeping a three point bid you might think about adding Trick Shot to Lando.

Or adding Expert Handling to Norra.

I'd actually go for both of these while cutting down R2-D2 to a generic unit.
