Man these guys are super versatile there isn't a range they can't hit at.  While they seem to hit the hardest at close range they can hit range 4 and throw at least two dice per model at mid range (range 2 to 3)

I’m pretty stoked. Ugh. So much more painting to do.

LOL I've been furiously painting as much as I can amid this cold, still many things left un-primed. Other than the Airspeeder I just bought, I now have all my Rebel stuff painted just in time to start painting these, if the weather warms a bit and I can spray prime them lol

Not really impressed by either the A300 config or the named characters.

Probably going to run them with Pao, duck and cover and nothing else.

Can you inspire yourself?

Rolling 5 Red dice at range 2 seems OK to me.

And nah, you can't inspire yourself. It specifies "other" units.

Yeah, but you can instead roll 10 white with surge, for no extra cost.

It's not bad of course, sounded a little to grumpy in my post perhaps. But in my opinion the effects is not worth the cost. Of course, once you see it in the field I might change mind.

We just don't use recover that much in this game so I think in most instances we pay only for 1 of the weapons and I think the 2 white for range 1-3 is good enough.

I definitely agree, their being Fleets + with the two white at better range is still very good. The cost for the configuration weapon is pretty cheap, though :) that Range 4 is good though at least for some suppressive fire early on.

Their versatility is very good.

Who knows if we will ever get them, but the inclusion of Bistan and Pao as unique characters in an upgrade slot means I still have hope to get Baze and Chirrut as upgrades for the Pathfinders :)

Baze would basically be a better Bistan, probably, I could see his weapon just being similar to the Rotary AT-RT. Chirrut's ranged weapon would probably be similar to the Bowcaster, but that thing took out a TIE Fighter, so probably better? He could also add great melee dice.

I'd really prefer to see them (and the rest of the Rogue One crew and Spectre cell while we're at it) as Corps upgrades.  Make Chirrut a personnel upgrade and Baze as a Heavy upgrade so you can include them both in one unit.

I donno what Spectre Cell is, but I was originally hoping to get a unique "Rogue One" squad of all unique characters, Cassian, Baze, Chirrut, and Bodie.

But, Cassian will definitely be an operative if he's included (should be). I was thinking of future "Specialists" type of packs with more individual mini personnel upgrades, so Baze could be added as a Heavy, and Chirrut as a Personnel.

Spectre cell = Rebels characters. :)

Cassian should be an Operative.  You can round out the rest of a Rogue One "Specialist Pack" with K2-SO and Bohdi "I'm The Pilot" Rook.

I actually think Cassian should be a commander, as he was in charge of the "squad" up until the final mission.  I would imagine he would be on the cheaper side of things but with a Personnel upgrade for K2.  K2 would have a card for being an operative and an upgrade card similar to the generic commanders.  Baze and Chirrut would be an Operative team and Bodi would be an operative as well.

I could go either way. Bodhi didn't have enough of a role that we need a character/operative for him, I don't really need a model even. Baze and Chirrut would be a cool "team" operative, but so would R2D2 and C3PO if there was a function for them in the game. I don't want them if they're useless.  I'd rather have more faceless grunts if that's the case. Cassian and K2 would make a great pair

For Bodhi, i was thinking something similar to the coms specialist, with his operative cards dealing with causing confusion with your opponent.  For example your one pip could allow you to issue orders after your opponent.

Given that we already have Sabine previewed as an Operative, and that Hera would fit nicely as another Commander option, I'd expect we'll see the Spectres showing up more in those capacities.  Similarly, while Pao and Bistan are upgrades, I find it more likely that's because they were small, if fairly visible, parts of Rogue One. More likely, we'll see Baze, Chirrut, etc. appear slowly as operatives, maybe Commander Cassian...

I’m not sure this has ever come up because the units that have Sentinel, have weapons that go to at least range 1-3, but if the Pathfinders are using their red die attack (range 1-2) and they have the Overwatch (Sentinel 1-3) upgrade, and they do a Standby, does their weapon then work at 1-3?

You'll get your action from the standby still and can still shoot as they have their normal weapon available. The other option would be that if they don't have their normal weapon available or a different unit with overwatch was locked at 1-2 like wookies, you would still be getting a free move from it as you can do move action from standby

I'd like to see Baze, Chirrut, and K2 as operatives, and Cassian as a commander. And then give Cassian the ability to take an extra operative as long as it is K2. Kind of like how the Emporer can take an extra unit of Guards, and Director Krennic can take an extra unit of Death Troopers. I'm not sure how to represent Bodhi. Perhaps as a pilot upgrade, or a command card for Cassian?
