firstly it would help to know are your playgroup block 2 or block 3?

if they are block two its a totally different game

you have fortune teller

soul power

meglomania

ibis minuet

pieces of eight

block 3 you have

tiras contract

free will

lesser of many evils

saikio-ryu

spiritual center

orange gi is also pretty good if you cant find seals of cessation

also you sould consider infinity cards like olcadans mentoring seal of cessation and lynettes shop to name but a few of those

as for attacks

ichi no tachi

lightning sword

mega spike

tsuji hiyate

shadow blade

if your still unsure on what to play and need to see a list of all cards available go to javascript:void(0);/*1229802911117*/ use the drop down menu's to find the sort of things your looking for and dont forget to set it to post june 20 2008 rotation.

THD <- better link to TwoHeadedDragon, no frame crap

As far as Death/Fire stuff goes, definitely check out Manifest Destiny and Adoration -- excellent stats, good blocks, useful abilities AND they're only commons. No Memories is another very useful card, although Pieces of 8 would be better if you're playing block 2 format. If you ARE playing block 2, there's lots to consider - Ibis Minuet enables lots of aggro shenanigans if you're ahead on life, Grim Stride and Martial Arts Champion aren't useful in every game but are indispensible in some [that's what a sideboard is for - main 2 or so copies each, and switch out if your opponent likes to draw cards or plays a lot of assets]. A card from the new Street Fighter set, Hulking Brute, has big things ahead of it -- and like a bunch of these other cards, it's a common too :]

Attack-wise, Shadow Blade is the best thing since sliced bread for a utility attack, and unless you've got some serious cash to shell out, you're probably going to just want to look for attacks with useful effects, decent damage, and bring your opponent down over a few turns with chip damage. God of Metal is very helpful to this end, letting you reuse attacks that already dealt damage in previous turns [ie, reuse that Shadow Blade and keep your opponent from using any really dangerous foundations]
