Good lord, I hope not.  The fewer named characters the better.

At this point, I think it’s safe to say that ffg disagrees. For good or bad, it is what it is. The only thing you can control is which you buy and play yourself.

Since no one else has pointed this out yet, this is the first announcement that breaks the existing release cycle.  We have been getting stuff for one faction, then the other, then both in a 3-month cycle since last April. Now we are going to be getting two multi-faction releases in a row with the new vehicles in April and the operatives in May.

I have no intention of trying to guess what FFG will release after these two expansions but they have shown that the "usual" release cycle may have just been changed. We were expecting 12 months of releases when the game dropped almost a year ago, and this may be the first release of the "new" stuff that wasn't already developed when the game released.

Shame it didn't start from the beginning yet sure glad it's happening now, when it comes to being able to customize the miniature. A side from the units themselves, It's extremely awesome to now have a unique choice what the miniature will look like beyond paint and mods.  I wonder if someday they would create alternate parts for the existing miniatures. Even if not, hopefully all expansions from here on out continue with this new amazing feature when it applies!

With "zoom and enhance" I think that the Dauntless ability reads:

After you rally, if you are suppressed but not panicked, you may gain 1 suppression token to perform a free move action

If that is really what Dauntless does this it is very similar to Jyn's Rebellious command card ability.

That is what dauntless says. The pathfinders have the same ability built into them

Thanks, I thought I had seen it before but missed it when I scanned the Pathfinders card earlier for some reason.

That's awesome, and glad of it!  That may or may not have been due from earlier testing the waters, seeing if this game would become popular and steadfast enough to release expansions from a marketing standpoint.  While maybe slow to start it picked up fast and is ever growing, that most likely took notice.

I'd also say, I believe in one of the updates it was saying they will be having more events/tournaments or something along those lines more often than done earlier. If that's so, there should be an increase in expansion release opposed to say some CCG/TCG games which release a expansion every 4 months. 4 months of the same thing gets dull and decreases the challenge of adapting, instead everyone becomes bored and very familiar.

As a reasonably new game, it also needs to push creating quite a number of different expansions to add enough variety, which of course takes time yet would add uniqueness to army building far beyond what is able to done now. Again using a CCG/TCG as an example, in the beginning everyone is using VERY similar decks, they aren't copy cats or incompetent at deck building; it's there is hardly anything out. Now 25 expansions later or more, now nearly each game played everyone is using either a totally different deck or different with some so called staple cards.

I'm in no way knocking or complaining, just stating the obvious along with the above point.  Currently with 4 commanders, 2 corps, 1 operative, 2 (maybe 3 if considering the smaller unit a totally different unit instead of just smaller) special forces, 2 support, and 1 heavy.... not including the newer releases not out yet.  We definitely have a lot of different builds that can be made, but just not to the same degree say a year or so from now. Can't wait to see how it develops and adds more diverse strategies/tactics along with builds to play against.

If you look at the old Chewie article, Chewie’s points look very similar to Bossk. So I think Bossk is 115 points, not 85.

Since the two face up, but hidden upgrade cards in Sabine’s display dont seem to have Sabine only at the top like the dark saber, does that mean any unit can have the personal energy shield, or the electro-grapple-cable-thingy?

It’s cool that they were included, but I would have like to have seen them Sabine only. I guess if FF does a Mandalorian unit, they could all have one of each (Sabine can), so maybe that’s why it’s not Sabine only.

Huh! I guess those cards are a preview for the Mandalorian unit, when it comes out.

She is an explosives expert in the tv show (teenagers being expert in anything is a little silly, but its scifi) In IA she deals a parting blow.  I imagine she'll have some sort of mine/explosive device that will be better than all the others because she's Sabine.

It was one of the problems I had with her character. I suspect they made her younger to play into a possible romance with Ezra, but I really wish they had her in her twenties for the series rather than her teens since she is an explosive's expert, was an ace student at an imperial academy and designed a super weapon by herself, then she went on to work as a bounty Hunter with Ketsu likely for a decent bit of time, and then is the source of all Imperial exposition in the series. So she did all of that before the age of 16.

The real question here is how are you going to paint Sabine?

Well you have 5 canon options. 3 if you want to go with pure canon based off the outfit due to season 1's outfit lacking the sleeves and both season 1 and 2's lacking the bits on her legs and the jetpack. For the article FFG went with season 3 Sabine, which makes sense considering it is the only outfit she wears while wielding the darksaber.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got some generic operatives with another set of generic faction specific command cards down the line.

I'm kind of hoping we get that too, like a second specialist set. Something like Rebels getting a Rebel Infiltrator and Imperials getting a ISB Field Agent with both being a cheap generic operative option or could be added to a corps squad to give them a Training upgrade slot. Then maybe they could add a GNK droid for Rebels and a RA-7 Protocol droid with them being a  noncombatant upgrade that lets you ready a upgrade as a free action similar to the other two noncombatants in the game and as a nod to the GNK droid in the original Battlefront games.

I'd be surprised, with Clone Wars coming, if they included adult Ahsoka instead of Clone Wars Ahsoka. Should could still be an operative though. Interesting to see how they handle all the Jedi with the Clone Wars releases

Why is this a problem?

We're almost guaranteed to have Young and Old Anakin Skywalker.  Probably also a 20 year younger pre-lighting to the face Darth Sidious.....
There's certainly room for Padawan Ahsoka and Falcrum Ahsoka.

We're guaranteed to get Anakin, who is for all intents and purposes, a different person from Darth Vader, yes, but I haven't seen any indication that we're guaranteed to get Old Ben?

I do think Ahsoka during CW and later in Rebels are fairly different, but I definitely don't see a guarantee to get both.

We better get some old Ben Kenobi going at some point. I will be severely disappointed if I can't run the crazy old hermit before the end.

Also, I think my brother (who is a dark side degenerate) will be severely disappointed if he can't chop the crazy old hermit in half with Vader.

I do think Old Ben would add an interesting twist to how a commander operates, since he wouldn't be running into combat theoretically. Or there'd be some interesting twist related to how he sacrificed himself

What would be cool is multiple anakins. Maybe an early clone wars and late clone wars versions

With the Rebels content, does that open the door of Thrawn commander and Rukh operative?

If they do, unless Rukh has some sort of synergy with Thrawn, he’d be my first pass as an imperial player.

Thrawn on the other hand.... would like to see him.

I think they will likely keep alterations simple, I suspect that Ahsoka will give you the option to run either one or two sabers. I mean, they could really lean into the alternate poses which would be great but as is I suspect that Anakin will be a one hand on saber or both hands on saber. I hope that if we get Clone Wars Obi Wan they give us the option to either run him with or without the helmet.

Leia was a Senator at 18??????

Luke could pilot better than trained imperial pilots at 18????

Padme was a flipping elected Queen at like 13???  Then an even more accomplished Senator at 23???

No one blinks when Ashoka was out waving a lightsaber around at 13 in a war zone

Just saying age feels like its absolutely meaningless in Star Wars. Young peeps are all up in the Stars and the Wars
