Brobots, ffg you did it!

I had tinkered around with brobots+1. Many did, as those topics pop up regularly here. 

Points changes on these four bots are a thing of pure beauty, thank you FFG! (no sarcasm, this is pure honesty) 

Look at the costs:

A 68, B 65, C 66, D 65, IG-2000 1

You can fit B/C/D with title for 199 points. You cannot fit A with two others and title on all of them. 

I really love this. Including A in this triple would have been very strong, especially instead of B. But like this, you have three potent ships with good abilities, but they are not overpowered. 

I will see how this works out tomorrow, guy in the club wants to try it.

 

For me, the real gem though, is that I can finally field this. Before the patch, it would have been 201 points 😉 points increase on Palob and moldy crow 😧😘 compensated by IGs and engine upgrade

I have a theory that B is still the most important one, even with weaker 2e cannons, since the low ship count might have trouble pushing damage through.

Maybe I'll get around to flying some of these.  My personal fascinations are IG-88 D crew lists with only a single IG-2000 and the Advanced Sensors/Elusive combo, to have double calculate tokens and a defensive reroll, while keeping arc on something.

There'd be something thematic and fun to having a 4-LOM team-up.

  • IG-88 B (Elusive, Advanced Sensors, Ion Cannon, IG-2000) 84
  • 4-LOM (Elusive, Advanced Sensors, Ion Cannon, Mist Hunter, IG-88 D) 73
  • Sunny Bounder (Heavy Laser Cannon, Afterburners) 40
    • No particular synergies, but this looks cute as heck.  Try for the bonus result with sunny's 2-dice attack, or pound out 4-dice HLCs, and Afterburners are just cool.

Alternately, there'd be a lot of movement flexibility to this list:

  • IG-88 B (Elusive, Advanced Sensors, Ion Cannon, IG-2000) 84
  • IG-88 D (Elusive, Advanced Sensors, Ion Cannon, IG-2000) 84
  • Lando Calrissian {Escape Craft} (Crack Shot, Tactical Officer) 32

Coordinate a Calculate, then AdvS into a boost into changing the bearing of the S-Loop... That's a lot of wiggle, just seems cool.

I get that people love the utility of IG-88 D crew, they're just sadly missing what the pilot can do when squaded up with the IG-88s as a pilot. The ability combo of the 3 pilots is the primary point of my list.

I mean, I have a B/D list above, so I understand the pilot ability.  :P

Mostly, I'm just riffing on different ideas.  4-LOM is particularly cool as an IG-88 D carrier with B, since he too can bring some sort of a cannon.  He's nifty with A, since he's got a non-action way to get Calculate tokens he could share.

Alas, can't fit B/C/Krassis Trelix in the same list... that'd be the jackpot.  Someone who wants to boost, and who wants to use cannons.

I think this would be fun. 4 droids, 2 coordinate actions. You can move calculate tokens where you want.

The power between jamming/Juke would make B and D good options.

Im looking at manaroo with IG-88 to pass a calculate to each bot ( in combo with A). Blocking is good token denial.

But with such low PS, the evade propably gets shot away before they can, wich made me look at swarmleader  serissu wich seems like a good option.

Might be that Palob/Juke is the stronger option here, but feels like my veins are about to pop.

Sooo close to something really good!!! GHAAAAAA!!!!

I don't like the ability. It's just one token, and how often will I need to load calculate tokens to just one ship. This way 2/3 are getting evades after the bost (unless I miss-understood the ability for A)

Help me out on what a typical turns looks like with this list. I don't see the value added for having IG-A since the Bros and Palob (minus the natural evade action) will want to either evade or boost for evade. My thought is since there wont be many or any, calculate actions in a turn why not save the 3 bid points and go with IG-B and get the extra attacks from a free Jam Beam (or additional mods)?

My guess would be to give the list the versatility to the 3 so when they are not shooting there is shared Calc token(s) 

I am as intrigued as everyone else to tinker away at this list to perfection and with all the Jukes I am in heaven!

Only tried it once, so far.  I'm trying to make Jumpmasters great again so I'm going to be flying them for a while, right now.  I was a fan of the Dengaroo craziness, and I'd like to see what it can do in 2.0

IG-88-A is the most expensive IG for a good reason.
It works similar to 1.0 Mindlink, you boost 2 ships in range for fire and keep one in the back to serve as the calculate provider each turn.
When you are at PS4 initiative is not that important any more to worry about bid IMO. Again you don't need the ship that calculated to be in range of the ship that needs the tokens since you can use the other ship as a relay point. ;)
Juke will push in damage "if" you roll hits and if you did not use your evade for defense already. So you need a way to modify your dice and that's what the calculate tokens do.

I love this thread! I just now went on a shoppings spree and got two IG-2000 :) I really want to run 4LOM with them.

Just played with IG88 C+D and A Hawk (Mux) this weekend. I did not have Advanced Sensors and regretted it. Spent too much time with no target locks and unable to juke after using IG88 D’s ability. Might just fly the two IG88’s but tool them up to he*l, in the future.
