KeyForge Open Play Game Tracker

Recommended Posts

Yesterday FFG released, under tournament resources, a file called KeyForge Open Play Game Tracker.

I feel a little ..idiot as I can't figure out how to use it. Any help?

I've been wondering the same thing.  Like the space on the left I would think if is for a player name, but I suppose it could be a deck.  The little pods of three make sense to be houses, but I guess it could be for tracking Best of 3, too. SO MANY OPTIONS.

Yeah, that's a confusing one. Maybe they left it somewhat open and vague to work for more than one type of format easily? I think the pods of three are for win/loss across rounds of best of threes.

What I am thinking is this:

  • The long line is for a deck name. Since it was released in conjunction with the Chainbound events, which are all run as Solo, this makes sense.
  • There are four of the shorter "threeboxes" on each line, which makes sense given the fact that these new Chainbound events run either three or four rounds. Also, a match can be best of 3 at the organizer's discretion, so being able to track each game within makes sense.
  • The one thing I don't like is that there is no section that would mark what decks were paired each round. But it appears to be something that would be posted at the event location even after the event is over to show from week to week how powerful decks are. If J. J. MacMurphy, Realm Runner keeps going 3-1 each week, we can calculate the chains and see what happens if she enters again.
  • I am hoping there will be timely updates to the Master Vault, so that we don't have someone rack up chains at Store A and then try to sneak into Store B and rack up chains there before the software updates. I can see one week delay, but Magic in its inception ran months of delays at points, which would defeat the purpose of Chainbound play.

The tracker is meant just for distributing the season 1 items. Stores write down a player name and every game a player plays they check the box. every three games they play each month they earn a card. The tracker isnt really used for chainbound events but games played in chainbound events can be counted towards earning cards.
