B-wing lists? X-wing 2.0

Recommended Posts

I'm aware that B-wings are not competitive at the moment, (admittedly better in Second edition) but I always try to play with B-wings, as they are an intriguing ship. At the moment, my builds are centered on a Braylen Stramm/Trickshot/Collision detector, with Wedge. My current build for B-wings is this:

199

Braylen Stramm

Trick Shot/Collision Detector

AP-5

Cassian Andor

Jyn Erso

Wedge Antilles

Swarm Tactics/Proton torpedoes

Any suggestions for how to utilize the B-wing?

This has been a blast so far. Does really well in casual play. Haven’t tried it much in competitive play yet. Debris gambit helps stress the B-Wings and adds to their defense.

    •Braylen Stramm - Blade Leader (50)
        Debris Gambit (2)
        Hull Upgrade (3)

A/SF-01 B-wing - •Ten Numb - 55
    •Ten Numb - Blue Five (50)
        Debris Gambit (2)
        Hull Upgrade (3)

BTL-A4 Y-wing - Gray Squadron Bomber - 44
    Gray Squadron Bomber - (32)
        Dorsal Turret (4)
        Veteran Turret Gunner (8)

BTL-A4 Y-wing - Gray Squadron Bomber - 44
    Gray Squadron Bomber - (32)
        Dorsal Turret (4)

I dont remember if this list won a tournament or played finals. But saved it in the listbuilder for a rebellscum player.

(50) Ten Numb
(1) Crack Shot
Points 51

(42) "Dutch" Vander

This list can be kind of monstrous, and very frustrating for your opponent.  To be fair, I only flew it once during a casual night, but tabled my opponent while manipulating my damage intake in such a way that none of my ships were at half health.

A/SF-01 B-wing - Blade Squadron Veteran - 50
    Blade Squadron Veteran - (44)
        Selfless (3)
        Fire-Control System (3)

T-65 X-wing - Red Squadron Veteran - 49
    Red Squadron Veteran - (43)
        Selfless (3)
        R3 Astromech (3)
        Servomotor S-foils (Open) (0)

T-65 X-wing - •Biggs Darklighter - 51
    •Biggs Darklighter - Red Three (48)
        R3 Astromech (3)
        Servomotor S-foils (Open) (0)

A/SF-01 B-wing - Blade Squadron Veteran - 50
    Blade Squadron Veteran - (44)
        Selfless (3)
        Fire-Control System (3)

Total: 200/200

This is where 2.0 Rebels shine. That BBXX list looks like fun. :)

My little brother and I hatched a pretty nasty list.

ARC-170 Starfighter - •Norra Wexley - 71
    •Norra Wexley - Gold Nine (55)
        •Squad Leader (4)
        Tactical Officer (2)
        •“Chopper” (2)
        Ablative Plating (4)
        Veteran Tail Gunner (4)

A/SF-01 B-wing - •Braylen Stramm - 60
    •Braylen Stramm - Blade Leader (50)
        Trick Shot (1)
        Ion Cannon (5)
        Shield Upgrade (4)

A/SF-01 B-wing - •Ten Numb - 58
    •Ten Numb - Blue Five (50)
        Trick Shot (1)
        Fire-Control System (3)
        Shield Upgrade (4)

Total: 189/200

Pretty tanky, good regen for Norra. Genuinely difficult list to fight.

I’ve recently been playing around with this list. I kinda like it:-

(52) Wedge Antilles
(0) Servomotor S-foils
(9) Proton Torpedoes
Points 61

(30) AP-5
Points 30

(50) Ten Numb
(4) Squad Leader
Points 54

(50) Braylen Stramm
(1) Trick Shot
Points 51

Total points: 196

Optional Swarm Tactics on Wedge if I don’t need the bid. Not sure if it’s better.

Love B-Wings. Even better in 2e. Whats not to love with a 1 speed Talon Roll? They're still built like trucks and hit hard. Yes I fly them with HLCs (4 dice at any range if you get bullseye working) throw on afterburners and/or Advanced Sensors to help if needed.

I don't think afterburners are a great buy simply because they've only got one non-red move fast enough to trigger the dratted things.

The other points I agree with wholeheartedly.

Blade Squadron Veterans with Predator/Heavy Laser Cannon is another nice one at 50 points - a lattice of 4 bullseye arcs, any one of which can land some serious pain on whoever it falls on. It's a lot less mobile than an advanced sensors Blue Squadron, but if you can line up the big gun then the person on the receiving end will definitely know they've been shoved.

As an aside for another big hitting truck, I've been having a lot of Success with Han, AP5 and Wullfwarro. AP5 there to help either but mainly Han. The point on this thread? Wulfwarro is also a hard hitting tank of a ship - throw on Trick Shot and Hull Upgrade. That's potentially attack 5 dice when damaged, or 6 through a rock (even if they DO get to roll an additional green die). Bs and Wullfy, hmmm, now there's a thought.

Predator is primary only, otherwise I think its solid. Personally I've seen the named ones do well with AP coordinating, makes them hit like a truck:

B-Wing Aces (140)
Braylen Stramm — A/SF-01 B-Wing	50
Trick Shot	1
Heavy Laser Cannon	4
Ship Total: 55
Half Points: 28 Threshold: 4

Ten Numb — A/SF-01 B-Wing	50
Trick Shot	1
Heavy Laser Cannon	4
Ship Total: 55
Half Points: 28 Threshold: 4

AP-5 — Sheathipede-class Shuttle	30
Ship Total: 30
Half Points: 15 Threshold: 3

You can do a lot with 60 points, most likely even more so once the points get updated.

I really wish this were awesome, unfortunately Predator is Primary Weapon only.  I think this comes up in every B-Wing thread, because it looks like it should fit so well and be amazing.

Sad 😢

Was 1 of the my favorite lists in first edition and it's still a ton of fun in second edition.

Yeah, with the 1t/2k/AS/BR, the fact the you are flying a swarm of 4 in tight formation, can choose their move order, and you move 1st, your ability to block/control area and, as a results, focus your fire is pretty nuts.

Also, while 1 agi sucks, 4 shield/4hull is in a place where they basically have to shoot you 3x times (fully modded 3 die) to kill a 50pt generic, which is hard to do once you start the bump fest then pull the tight turn arounds.

Yeah, I tried something like that once. 180 arc, Tanky ship, it works really well.

I usually fly kitted out aces but I'm starting to wonder if generics might be the way to go:

Blade Squadron B-wings x2 w/ Debris gambit, AS, HLC and Hull Upgrade (61 each)

Green Squadron A-wings x2 w/ Juke (38 each)

or

Blade Squadron B-wings x2 w/ Debris gambit (46 each)

Green Squadron A-wings x2 w/ Juke (38 each)

Sabine Wren TIE w/ Juke (28)

As a rebel player only just experiencing Juke, I might be overdoing it...

I love B-Wings too!  This list seems to work for me.

[3] Blade Squadron Veteran (44) - A/SF-01 B-Wing:  Selfless (3), Shield Upgrade (4) = 51

[3] Blade Squadron Veteran (44) - A/SF-01 B-Wing:  Selfless (3), Shield Upgrade (4) = 51

[3] Biggs Darklighter (48) - T-65 X-Wing:  Servomotor S-Foild (0) = 48

[3] Magva Yarro (50) - UT-60D U-Wing:  Pivot Wing (0) = 50

Good against proton torpedoes.
