Imperial Assault Heroes for Legion

3D terrain would make a sweet campaign. What do the point costs represent? I don't know that they all are evenly costed. Jyn should have some hair trigger mechanism, where she gets a free shot once per round before the targeted figure. Or some command shenanigans.

Jyn should be 70~ pts

Diala nore as well

Gaarkhan should have more melee dice and be 80-90 pts

Fenn needs another weapon dor his arsenal to do something

Mak looks good but should cost more as a very similar 2man team costs 46pts and he has the same gun and stats but twice the health

The point costs at the moment are just sort of filler, or considering only 2-3 would be used in the campaign rather arbitrary and meant to let the other player still have alot of flexibility for building up their force, even at lower point games. Or at least the intent is to not make the players feel like their list is punished by a 150 point base tax on whatever they wanted to build for a mission. 

Jyn's hair trigger thing would likely be represented by her command card.

The idea for Fenn is to fill the grenade slot, though at one point I had played around with the idea of him having a suppressive grenade or the like built into his weapon options.

Yeah i thought of that but range one is pretty rare in all of the games I've played except for Luke and Vader early games. I thought adding a pistol upgrade like Jyn, Death Troopers and maybe the pathfinder units have would be more fun and justify a bump in his cost and add variety. Even if it was a double white blaster

These are cool! Where did you make them (some app or by hand)? I fell like if Disney allows for it, this can be something FFG could release, along with new sculpts for each hero. If not as a set of single operatives, then as a set of personel upgrades (as they did with "specialists").

As for specifics - i like how each feels both reasonably powered and close enough to their IA counterpart. I won't comment on point cost though, as I feel like the versions presented here are more campaign-oriented, and those do not care that much about points ;)

If i were to change anything, I'd add a rule (or an upgrade?) to Mak allowing him to perform a free objective-specific action (iirc he had a card allowing for a free interact) and changed Saska' Modified Equipment's wording to: "[action] Modified Equipment: Choose 1 friendly unit at range 1 and assign 1 condition token to it. When attacking or defending, a unit with a condition token may spend it to gain either [surge]:[hit] or [surge]:[block] until the end of attack."

Those are pretty cool.  I have been thinking about units like them or rogue one as operative teams, even though so far we have only see operatives as individuals.

I know, hence why I used the art but he is coming to the game as a generic officer which means that he could end up being used during the campaign in list building so I wanted to make Gideon a little more unique for his hero card.

I made them using a free photoshop like program and used what clean images of the legion cards I could find. I can imagine that your idea for Saska would make her ability less confusing, but when making the card I just wanted to try and keep the components used for the campaign limited to stuff already in Legion.

Change suggestions:

`1) Something like Chewie's Leia command card.  He can add his attack dice to a Rebel Trooper Unit (as in the ones dressed like him) if he is also in range of the trooper's target.  

2) Something to give Diala her foresight.  I'm also not a fan of white dice for lightsabers personally.

3) Gideion: Entourage - Fleet Troopers

4) Biv should get white dice with no surge.  He's WAY too close to adequate as written here.

Is this in regards to Fenn? I was trying to play into his loner thing, since it would be interesting to see him go all Rambo getting dodge tokens off attacking and defending to keep him alive.

Which is why I gave her uncanny luck.

I'll keep that in consideration, at the very least bumping him down to half white dice for his gun if not making it all white.

The Entourage Fleet Troopers is primarily because of the secondary effect, which also mimics his core ability in IA and goes with the reward for his personal mission.  The unit requirement part is not really a concern for it. 

 

As to the Diala I meant to say something for Precise Strike should be added, not foresight.

I was thinking of giving her a command card that would play into her Sarlac Sweep that would let her Charge in, attack a group and then disengage for free and perform a second charge, the idea being that she bounces between two groups of troopers.

Still working on the others from the Hoth set but here is Loku, tried to make him different from Mak where Mak wants to aim/standby Loku wants to get his shot in on his turn and try to get into position for his next shot, with Loku overall being more likely to do damage while Make is more likely push damage through cover.

The cards looks awsome, really nice abilities. 
I think Saskas token should give the bonus effect of an aim and a dodge token too, just the surge conversion seems weak.

My plan for this would be a "Heroic" squad, either operative slot or special forces.

The base unit card would have health, morale, attack and defence die, but have no personel, instead there would be between 4-6 unique "Hero" upgrade slots where you add each hero.

Each hero would then bring something to the squad, it could add a bonus rule that effects the entire squad (Jyn adds "Low profile" to the squad), provide bonus dice to all members in attack or defence (Dialas foresight give the unit "Uncanny Luck"), a unique weapon upgrade (Gharkhaan gives the unit a melée weapon with good dice and pierce maybe).

This makes the heroes into a real squad that fights together just like in the Imperial assault. 

Maybe this is more complicated but sounded fun in my head.
